Getting drunk in the spirit "Biblically"

Interesting that the 18th century preacher George Whitefield and Spurgeon also in the 19th century both stressed the sovereignty of God in the Gospel and were also instrumental in the true conversion of so many ppl.

With careful reading you can understand the Bible - Luke 10:18

@face2face Yes, in a calm and steadfast spirit, we need instead to keep 'looking unto Jesus' (Hebrews 12.2), right?

Was Jesus a spirit being before coming to earth as a human?

@David in NJ This is also the message of Galatians, right? :) It's by the Spirit through faith; even religious tradition -vehemently pursued - is really an act of the flesh...

    Why Crosses and Crucifixes?

@Lambano Thanks; and I guess also, since writing the fish symbol in the dust with one's staff was an early practice, having a small fish symbol on one's foot as a tattoo functions essentially in a similar way, right? (for those motivated to use it as such).

    Why Crosses and Crucifixes?

@Cassandra It's all about receiving by faith the meaning His sufferings at the Cross; Isaiah 53 is so moving; and Peter could speak of 'the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow'.

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

PS: @Heart2Soul You're quite right; it's what they do at 18 now. GodsGrace said: ↑ But also: All the young ppl tattooed with Bible verses that I have spoken with seem evidently to have had them done as an evangelistic tool. It's easy to see how important it is to get Biblical faith issues...

Rumblings of Things To Come. Personal Thoughts

@Heart2Soul It's was all about people and Spirit-led Scriptural activities from the start, in any case: "And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers." (Acts 2.42)

    Your favorite Psalm?

@Heart2Soul FYI...thought you would appreciate this; (saw your post just now...) :)

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@David in NJ Yes, you can see that the colors might initially be a reason why ppl might compliment the lady on her tattoo artwork, but really for her the colors are also a pragmatic tool for her immediately to be able to say to be people that according to the Bible, salvation is by Scripture...
