The word of God vs people's understanding of it

I suspect or believe that only those who have overcome all obstacles standing between themselves and God as Jesus did, are infallible. If ever I have met such a one aside from Jesus himself, I was doubtless unable in my own fallibility to recognize what I was seeing. Help us dear Lord!

    Christ the king

Yes, you see the problems and shortcomings of many Protestants, but they are fallible people as Catholics also are fallible people. The Catholic individuals are often found having precisely the same kind of difficulties you mention observing in Protestants, involving themselves in attacks...

    Christ the king

"Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again." Matt 7:1-2 It is wrong for you or for me to render final judgements against others others because unlike God, none of us, Catholic of...

    Truman's Place

Pumpkin pie! When I was a pre-school age little boy, I would be left regularly with this very kindly hunch- backed old lady across the street from our home. She once made a pumpkin pie and explained to me about cutting off the front tip of my slice and making a wish on it and then saving that...

I would have a big pile of them outside that back door if any were found in my place.

    Truman's Place

Ah but you would never hear me complain about the pies, cakes, chocolate eclairs, cream puffs and donuts my mother used to make periodically also from scratch. Weight was not a worry for me in those days. Now my wife makes such things far and few between as there is no else in the home to help...

What does Jesus say? What does the Bible say?

Tearing down and beginning again many times is the best thing for you. It certainly is for me. The following verses for many years now have described how I regularly am willing to tear it all down and start it all over again as God directs me: "When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit...

    You do nothing Good

"For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness." Psalm 84:10 Or a tiny ant chosen to go inside of the Ark until the flood waters had come and gone!

    A Fist Full of Doubt's

All? That is perhaps a bit more comprehensive than you really intended it to be?

    Truman's Place

When I was growing up living in my mother's home she made from scratch one of those things toward the end of every year for the holidays. She liked them, but I always hated them. Since our marriage in 1972 I've never had one in my home. My wife agrees with me and she is one fantastic cook but...

Where do people go when they die?

While the details may not be all the same, or at least perhaps are not described the same, much of what you believe, I believe that I believe. Communication between people remains a problem when it comes to putting our understanding or beliefs into words for others read or hear even at time...

    You do nothing Good

Men were initially created in God's image, but they also were given the ability to choose to go against Him. They did so choose when they disobeyed Him and in doing so their similarity to God diminished leaving only a hope of actually becoming like Him again. They were dead in the eyes of God...

Where do people go when they die?

While I do not really disagree, I do believe that what a "lie" is to God may not be quite the same as it many times might be to man. I believe that God does work on the Left hand as well as on the Right. Who is it that does the left hand work for God?

10 Sins We Commit Without Knowing

Help us all dear Lord to move ever closer to you as by the power of Your Spirit we continue kill off all of that old man who continues to be attracted to sin. I wish I could honestly say I never sinned at all any more. But our goal is here then: "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it...
