What is plain is plain.

I'm thinking of taking a break from this sandbox affair. You kids will continue to (not) get along just as well without me, I think. Sorry to abandon the thread after only 1020 posts.

That would be very clever if I were selling anything. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. (James 1:27) It seems that what James taught was from Hell itself, according...

What could possibly be weak about the Spirit? It's just that I run into so many people who seem to believe as if He casts a spell on us which makes us holy, apart from any instruction by His Word. People who are brought up civilized take civility for granted. The savage in a remote jungle has to...

God Bless You, Brother. :) If you have ever offended me, you may rest assured that ALL is forgiven.

I knew you were going to come back with an "I know you are but what am I?"-type remark. Nice touch. You say you want to help people but you say things like: Really inspires hope. I'm just making an observation about why you might approve of Behold's conduct. You're just engaging in one-upmanship.

But hasn't the Holy Spirit always been the source of every right impulse? And weren't the ten commandments given by the Messiah?

I'm so sorry to hear you're having trouble. I've had a heart condition since birth that forces me to take meds that keep me short of breath. I can barely exercise at all. :)

This explains a lot.

CL, I wouldn't dare judge such a thing. We are friends and I take you at your word that you have the Holy Spirit. The post was general and therefore honestly directed at no one, but especially not you. We both speak very bluntly at times, but we never speak harsh or condemning words to each...

And yet Paul seemed to subject the fruit of the Spirit to the test of the law.

Do you have some special qualification we should be aware of? It seems you're doing enough assuming for the rest of us.

You don't suspect at all that the church prays less as we become more prosperous and self-sufficient. I certainly wasn't speaking for anyone else, personally. Seems like you would know that.

If we are not obligated to the law in any way then what does it matter if the fruit are against or for the law?

The rationalizations for the abolition of the ten commandments are many, and increasingly sophisticated and conflicting, and the result is seen in the chaos which pervades western society today, especially in the U.S. The bitter fruit thus born is the cause for all of our suffering and calamity...

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (Ecclesiastes 12:13)

Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. (Revelation 22:14)

Isaiah 24 3The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word. 4The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish. 5The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they...

Where did I say that obedience is the way to "get Saved?" Straw men are taking over.

It's a noble effort you make, Sister, but this is why I so often have to take a break from these forums, and it never ends. I don't believe all who reject the Sabbath also reject the other 9, just as I don't believe all ten commandments detractors live with no moral code. But straw man arguments...
