    The Basis of Salvation

Is THAT what you think God does?? That He manipulates your will to be in union with His?? That is outright heresy. He doesn't need to "tweak" anything. He gives us a FREE gift - and the FREE choice to accept or reject it. This is what it means to cooperate with God's will.

    The Basis of Salvation

That's not true. I just explained to you that even if Paul is generalizing - as ALL pastors and preachers do with congregations - the MESSAGE is the same. The message AND the language remain unchanged.

    Jesus isn't Catholic

Soooo - is YOUR sect called any of those names?

    Jesus isn't Catholic

By completely ignoring and running away from the following verses that NONE of you can seem to address? Romans 11:22 “See, then, the kindness and severity of God: severity toward those who fell, but God's kindness to you, provided you REMAIN in his kindness; otherwise you to will be cut off.”...

    The Basis of Salvation

I think of Him as the Scriptures describe Him - as Creator and Refiner . . .

    The Basis of Salvation

Even if that's how you want to understand it - the Holy Spirit inspired Paul to use this word (Epignosis) when he COULD have used two other words (gnosis or oida). Even if you only apply it to a portion of who it is being written to - the word AND the warning do not lose their meaning.

    The Basis of Salvation

ANY situation where we are in concert with the will of God - and it was NOT our choice is coercion. If you are married - and you lavish your wife with gifts in order to stay with you - that's NOT love. SHE needs to make the conscious decision to stay with you. That's the only REAL love. God...

    Jesus isn't Catholic

When did I say that?? Not only did I NOT say that - I even challenged YOU to research it for yourself. Go online or get a Strong's Lexicon or a Vine's Expository and look up Acts 9:31 to get the literal Greek translation.

Good grief - your evasion never ends - does it? Just ADDRESS the verses I presented that destroy your OSAS heresy. If you can't refute this evidence - just admit it. And, by the way - NOBODY ever said that Jesus leaves US. Unfortunately, many of US walk away from HIM . . .

    Jesus isn't Catholic

The NT wasn't written in English. If you don't believe what I posted about the phrase in Acts 9:31 (εκκλησια καθ ολης) - then PLEASE look it up for yourself.

    The Basis of Salvation

You're focusing on the "group" instead of the language used, which is FAR more important. I have challenged you and everybody else to deal with "Epignosis". This tells us that the people being written to have a FULL, experiential and relational knowledge of Christ (Heb. 10:26-27, 2 Pet...

    The Basis of Salvation

Yes, we ARE His workmanship - like a work of art. BUT, unlike a mere work of art, we are NOT inanimate objects. We RETAIN our free will.; What good is a love that is coerced? God doesn't have to coerce us into loving him. He gives us the choice to love Him or to reject Him - at ANY point...

    Jesus isn't Catholic

This is perhaps the BIGGEST LIE you've told yet. I never stopped refuting OSAS. NOBODY has refuted the verses I have presented. What else am I supposed to say until there is a response to my rock-solid case against this man-made invention??
  14. BreadOfLife

    The Basis of Salvation

    Another verbose rant - another frantic dodge. Just ADDRESS the Scriptural evidence I presented that refutes your 16th century, man-made invention of OSAS already . . . (Matt. 7:19-23, Matt. 10:22, Matt. 24:13, Matt. 25:31–46, John 15:1-6, Rom. 11:22, 1 Cor. 4:4, 1 Cor. 9:27, 1 Cor. 10:12, 1...

Another LONG-winded rant - and another dodge. Some EIGHT times now on multiple threads, I have given you these same verses as a rock-solid refutation of your 16th century man-mad invention of OSAS. and you have RUN from them at every turn. I wonder WHY that is? Everybody reading this should...

    Jesus isn't Catholic

So, because you couldn't deal with the fact that I refuted your point about Peter and Baptism - you give me another LONG-winded anti-Catholic diatribe. Funny that you can never just deal with the conversation at hand . . .
  17. BreadOfLife

    The Basis of Salvation

EXCUSE me?? Ummmm YOU are the one who objected to the Scriptural evidence I presented. I didn't make a "huge deal" out of anything. YOU began putting all of your own limitations on that Scriptural evidence and claiming that it didn't fit YOUR understanding. All I can do is give you the...
  18. BreadOfLife

    The Basis of Salvation

And who say ANYTHING about "defeating" God's workmanship? Part of God's workman ship is that we FREELY come to Him - or that we FREELY walk away from Him. That is the only true love. We're not lifeless automatons who are pushed in one direction because we have no will of our own. the ENTIRE...

    Jesus isn't Catholic

And NOBODY is claiming that the Early Church Fathers were usurping holy Scripture, I was showing you a pattern - what was being taught by the end of the first century i the Church. Some of these men actually KNEW the Apostles and were taught BY them - like Ignatius of Antioch and Polycarp. YOU...

    Jesus isn't Catholic

Once AGAIN - you discount the entire context of Scripture on the matter for your favorite past time of cherry-picking. Acts 2:39 assures us that this promise is for us - and ouR CHILDREN. The ENTIRE households of Cornelius, Stephanas and the Phillipian Jailer were Baptized based on the faith of...
