Reconciling Romans 4:2 with James 2:24

Just like amigo de christo said, - "Yep even a broke clock is right twice a day. Just don't expect me to follow the broke clock cause its wrong all the other times." He nailed it! When it comes to salvation by faith + works, guilt by association is true in your case. The Bible clearly teaches...

Reconciling Romans 4:2 with James 2:24

Unbelief brings condemnation (John 3:18) Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1) You basically define faith as belief + acts of obedience/works which follow and are produced out of faith. So do Roman Catholics. 1 John 1:8 remains your...

Reconciling Romans 4:2 with James 2:24

Can't sin at all (sinless perfection) and still be saved while under God's grace. Got it. He did nail it after all and did not ignore your points.

Reconciling Romans 4:2 with James 2:24

I never said I justify sin. That is slander. As per usual, you don't even realize what you are really teaching in your sugar coated double talk long winded rants. Self righteousness has a way of clouding people's judgment.

Reconciling Romans 4:2 with James 2:24

Fixed it again. ;) That's how it came up when I typed it out. Thanks for catching it. We both know that it stands for "typographical error" and we both know that's what I meant. This is just more of the same long winded nonsense, straw man arguments and surface reading which results in 'type 2...

Does anyone know what OSAS stands for?

Straw man argument.. OSAS is Once Saved Always Saved or Preservation of the Saints. (Psalm 37:28; Jude 1:1) ALL false religions and cults that teach salvation by works strongly oppose OSAS, which has always been a major red flag for me.

Does anyone know what OSAS stands for?

Only God "infallibly" knows everyone's heart.

Does anyone know what OSAS stands for?

There are genuine Christians and there are "nominal/pseudo" Christians. There are genuine believers and there are make believers mixed to gather in various churches (and on various Christian forum sites) hence, the warning passages in Scripture

Reconciling Romans 4:2 with James 2:24

If someone merely says/claims (key word - James 2:14) they have faith, but lack resulting evidential works, then they demonstrate that they have an empty profession of faith/dead faith and not genuine faith. People who teach salvation by works (whether type 1 works salvation and/or type 2 works...

Do you wear/like distressed/ripped jeans? (Poll also...)

I'm not a fan of distressed/ripped jeans. My wife has one pair of distressed/ripped jeans. I think they look better on her than me. I joke with her and call them her Bon Jovi jeans. :D

Reconciling Romans 4:2 with James 2:24

No confusion on my part. "Faith only" or "faith alone" in James 2:24 is talking about an empty profession of faith/dead faith that remains alone - "barren of works" (James 2:14) so your argument is moot about being justified/accounted as righteous/saved by works and Romans 4:2-6 blows your...

Reconciling Romans 4:2 with James 2:24

LOL! Typeo. Fixed it. ;) So the believer passively sits back while God does good works through the believer? That's how you get around boasting? Roman Catholics, Campbellites and other works-salvationists use that same argument, but that's not how it works. Believers are not passive in...

Reconciling Romans 4:2 with James 2:24

I disagree with Catholics and the Church of Christ strongly as well who both interpret James 2:24 this way - "You see then that a man is justified/saved by works, and not by faith only." You may not teach that we are "initially" saved by works - "type 1 works salvation" but you still teach that...

Reconciling Romans 4:2 with James 2:24

We need to remember that James is discussing the evidence of faith (says-claims to have faith but has no works/I will show you my faith by my works - James 2:14-18) and not the initial act of being accounted as righteous with God. (Romans 4:2-3) Works bear out the justification that already came...
