    Maturity in Christ

God no longer just consumes our offerings to Him (He is a consuming fire). He consumes US....purifies us...and gives us His life to walk in. That is sanctification.

    Maturity in Christ

A living God to walk with...yes not just a paper God stuck in a book. The sheer scale of the difference between these. The bible testifies of an extra biblical (not just paper) God. God is alive and active. Paul received the truth by revelation. As I did...it began with the words of the bible...

    Maturity in Christ

That is your opinion which is in error. But you have learned this from a religious system that only wants your money. The truth is that there is a lamp AND there is oil. Your argument takes much away from the wisdom of the word. You would have the oil being perpetual...supplied with the lamp...

    The Crucified Life

OK...but you see no ambiguity in the verse that leaves open the possibility that it doesn't relate to what WE can do?

    The Crucified Life

So OK then...they that are Christ's "have had crucified" their flesh. Are you sure that we can crucify ourselves? "They that are Christ's have had their flesh crucified" Does that work?(or...have had crucified their flesh) Does it say...have had themselves crucified their own flesh? Think...

    GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT

But there's the rub. Most modern believers believe in a saving knowledge. Gnosticism is a spiritual knowledge but in a carnal enclosure...IOW the person never stops sinning even thought they hold to the promise of one day being freed from sin (at death). But that's seen as OK since it's the...

What Do You Learn from Debate?

Amen! How much sensitivity to the Holy Spirit is being exhibited here? There are some on my ignore list that continually grieve the Spirit...and quench Him. All this due to treating the things of God with no appreciation of the fragility of our grasping at the truth. Too often the truth is...

What Do You Learn from Debate?

That's the problem right there....when you treat eternal things with the same regard or disregard as temporal things. They (the eternal things) are on an entirely different level whereby the normal process of the carnal mind is unwelcome. The things of the Spirit are foolishness to the natural...

    The Crucified Life

Gal. 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. A crucial verse.....with an ambiguity. The translation of this verse implies that WE are to do the crucifying. But that's not how the Greek goes....which says...They that are Christ's the flesh...

    Spontaneous Living

Amen. The cares of this world? Take no care for the morrow... Mat. 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. The spiritual life is always moment by moment. Eternal life is always NOW.

What Do You Learn from Debate?

I think that the purpose of engaging in Christian conversation and debate is that we might one day say this... Is. 50:4 The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine...

What Do You Learn from Debate?

My debates are short. I'm always looking for a new angle to the truth....and responses can provide that. Or else a person with a skewed view will get belligerent and start forcing a poor understanding. I will point out the imbalance once then bow out of the debate. It's no use arguing with a...

    The Crucified Life

There are conditions to God's intervention....besides faith. Those conditions are a pure heart (shalem) and clean hands (tamim). (Ps. 24:3,4) In the OT this did not lead to a sacrificial life nor a resurrection life...since Jesus was not yet glorified and so His gift of grace was not yet...

Are The Laws Done Away With?

It's usually the people who have a hard time loving others that advocate an end to the laws of God. Trying to make God conform to the wishes of men is one of the oldest professions on earth. The others are....

    Maturity in Christ

It's not stated. But things are repeated elsewhere in the bible. So we see how the sacrifices of Elijah were accepted and how the sacrifices of Baal were not. Otherwise how would anyone know whose were accepted by God or not? It is the same thing with strange fire. Temple fires had to be lit...

Was Adam, Eve and Creation "Perfect" or "Very Good"?

Only God is perfect. But Adam was created in God's image...without sin of any kind. He had no experience of sin...and therefore didn't have the understand or wisdom to resist sin...unless through a simple trust in obedience to God. Because of free will the risk of sin was always there...

Are The Laws Done Away With?

And that law is fulfilled in us who walk in the Spirit by abiding in Him. So then we overcome as He overcame.

Are The Laws Done Away With?

That's not exactly right. The holiness laws have changed (not abolished) because of a new priesthood...from the Levitical priesthood temple holiness to walking IN Christ who is our high priest. Otherwise the 2nd tablet to love others as ourselves just got harder...we are to love others as Jesus...

    Maturity in Christ

Such pride and baloney! You would have Ananias begging in salvation. You would ignore every account to please the minuscule view you have from watching a video. I hope no one is taking anything you say seriously. That would a real loss to them.
