Will believers really be saved? (OSAS vs Loss of Salvation)

I don’t believe these passages of scripture above teach that genuine born again Christians go into unbelief and lose their salvation, so we remain in disagreement.

    Humorous sayings...

Life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer you get to the end the faster it goes.

    OSAS Question

I like the term “preservation of the Saints.” Psalm 37:28 - For the Lord loves justice, And does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.

Will believers really be saved? (OSAS vs Loss of Salvation)

Philippians 3:9 - and be found in Him, not having my OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith.

Will believers really be saved? (OSAS vs Loss of Salvation)

Ezekiel 33:13 - When I say to the righteous that he shall surely live, but he trusts in his OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS and commits iniquity, none of his righteous works shall be remembered; but because of the iniquity that he has committed, he shall die. Did you read that? "If he trusts in his OWN...

    OSAS Question

I don't know any genuine believers who teach that OSAS is a license to sin. Do you believe that everyone in the NOSAS camp is going to heaven?

    OSAS Question

There is nothing humorous about your straw man arguments or your relentless attacks against OSAS. So you are saying those who believe OSAS are going to hell? o_O

    OSAS Question

Pot calling the kettle black and you have no sense of humor. ;)

    OSAS Question

I was wondering the same thing. He only seems interested in relentlessly attacking OSAS, creating straw man arguments and stirring up contention. Need to borrow this? ;)

    OSAS Question

Amen! In James 2:14, we read of one who says/claims he has faith but has no evidential works (to validate his claim). That is not genuine faith, but a bare profession of faith. So when James asks, "Can that faith save him?" he is saying nothing against genuine faith, but only against an empty...

    OSAS Question

Sure I do, but I don't interpret it OUT OF CONTEXT.

    OSAS Question

It's already been explained to him, but he only hears what he wants to hear and just doesn't get it.
  13. mailmandan

    OSAS Question

It doesn't if you only isolate one verse and ignore the context. That's called flawed hermeneutics. 24 For if thou wast cut out of that which is by nature a wild olive tree, and wast grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree; how much more shall these, which are the natural [branches]...

    OSAS Question

The Jews were in the olive tree to begin with because they were the "natural branches" and not because they were all saved. (vs. 19-21) Because of their unbelief and hard hearts God removed His gracious hand from them as a people overall and broke them off from His goodness (but only for a time...

    OSAS Question

Those who trust in Jesus Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of their salvation are saved. (Acts 10:43; 13:39; 16:31; Romans 1:16; 3:24-28; 4:5-6; 5:1; Ephesians 2:8,9; Philippians 3:9 etc..)
  16. mailmandan

    OSAS Question

Saving belief/faith continues and is not some shallow, temporary belief that has no root, produces no fruit and withers away.
  17. mailmandan

Forgiveness is to those who keep the commandments of the Lord.

Your continual straw man arguments expose your true colors. You like to play games and are completely obsessed with attacking OSAS.
  18. mailmandan

Forgiveness is to those who keep the commandments of the Lord.

I know what initially means. Without being made alive together with Christ (by grace through faith) we are still dead in our sins. (Ephesians 2:5-8) Christian works “follow” having been saved by grace through faith and having our sins forgiven. (Ephesians 2:8-10) All you constantly do is accuse...

Forgiveness is to those who keep the commandments of the Lord.

Again, big difference between saved BY good works and saved FOR good works.
