Amen! Probably almost anything we do that is against God can be traced back to... as you say... covetousness. This is effectively what Jesus did when he expressed it or them as the two great commandment upon which hung all of the law and the prophets. Give God the glory!

And sometimes Jesus remained silent! Why? If a person's interest in what I have or have not done is sincere and with good reason, then the 'yea' or 'nay' Jesus advises in one place could be fine. However, as anyone on this forum or other forums likely knows, people very frequently have agendas...

Indeed! God wants people who will to love Him first when another seemingly attractive alternative has been given, namely, mammon! Mammon is the deception.

Yes, only God! Bless you sister for inquiring. The pneumonia is, I believe, on the mend... now if only I could get a good night's sleep...LOL

@Helen @Rita Yes God is working on the initial problem, now if only I could sleep again... Oh for the restful sleep of my youth... but I cannot complain about that, can I? Give God the glory!

The order of things may have been different for people who wanted to come to God in the OT but there was always a Way and without doubt in my mind, the Holy Spirit was involved. Our God has never changed, OT or NT, He is still the same. The pathway before may appear different to us but the goal...

Praying for you now my friend!

As bad as this in spite of our best and most sincere efforts on behalf others? "Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast: Though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither...

Yes to hell to get to heaven! We are perhaps already there and someone is now turning up the heat. How will we endure the Reality of the shadow seen in Nebuchadnezzar's fiery furnace [Dan 3] when it attains to seven times more than it was wont to be heated? Those three did it right but consider...

When my paternal grandfather was 20yo his hair line was already receding way back in the front and a large bald spot was forming toward the back. Friends advised to him that shaving his head to encourage it to come back again. He followed their advice and for the rest of his life had only...

Welcome to the forum. May God richly bless you further as you continue to go through these threads and posts. I wished we could assure that everything would always be positive, but there are fallible people here too! Praying that you be encouraged by God!

Is what you call the material world the sum total of Reality or is it to anyone with personal experience or revelation from God a complete fantasy? You express doubts but where is your faith invested and why? "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For...

Sorry for that. I am praying still... In my opinion, don't defend yourself on this thread like this. Report it. This is a prayer request forum and thread. Arguments and disagreements do not belong here as I see it and may discourage people who only want someone to intercede for them...

I have not been an active formal member of the Catholic Church in more than 50 years, but I still have a testimonies of how priests and nuns guided me toward spiritual rebirth. Are you God or His appointed inquisitor sent here by Him at harvest time? If not, why are you doing what you are doing...

Indeed! Those questions could be applied to a great many groups and people... in churches or not. Is it not fortunate for all who do sincerely love God, in spite of differences, that it is not any such men who will render final judgement for or against them instead of God and His Word?

Would you not agree that no body of believers as a whole will be named as "The Body of Christ" [or even a part of the Body of Christ] correctly unless every member of that body is a member of the Body of Christ? I know of no group in which every member is likely to qualify. Do you? On the other...

Thank you for your consideration. [I must say here without argument that I do believe that the gift of healing is still in place.]

Of course brother you were speaking from your own heart from the place where God has brought you up until this time. Others, here, as you most certainly already know, disagree and strongly condemn you when you boldly speak out. I actually agree probably with more of your beliefs than the beliefs...

@The Beamer Praying that God touch your friend drawing her close to Him!

What a mighty God we serve!
