The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love...19 We love Him because He first loved us. Romans 5:5 - Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has...

The stumbling block of the cross...

1 Corinthians 1:18 - For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20 Where is the wise? where is...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Amen! Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1) If we have saving faith in Christ, then we have this hope, which is not a “cross your fingers” uncertain kind of hope, like I hope it doesn’t rain next week. Unlike the english word "hope," the...

What Day Is The Sabbath ???

The word "Sabbath" first appears in Exodus 16:23 - Then he said to them, “This is what the Lord has said: ‘Tomorrow is a Sabbath rest, a holy Sabbath to the Lord. Bake what you will bake today, and boil what you will boil; and lay up for yourselves all that remains, to be kept until morning...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Do you believe that we are worthy "in of ourselves" to receive salvation? Do you also believe that we are righteous "in of ourselves?" In Luke 20:35, we read - but those who are considered/counted/accounted worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are...

    A question for mormons.

Different, yet they still have their similarities.

    A question for mormons.

I would not denounce the book of James and James does not teach that we are saved "by" works (as certain people erroneously teach). James’ concern is to show the reality of the faith professed by the individual (James 2:18) and demonstrate that the faith claimed (James 2:14) by the individual is...

    A question for mormons.

"Saved by grace, after all you can do?" - In other words, do all you can or else the Lord will not be able to save you/salvation by works. o_O Saved by grace through faith, not works. (Ephesians 2:8,9) - Thus saith the Lord. :) *Contradiction indeed.*

    A question for mormons.

My wife grew up in the RLDS church (similar to LDS church) and her church used Joseph Smith's so called "Inspired Version" of the Bible. In his Inspired Version, Joseph made additions, deletions and revisions to the King James Version numbering well over 2,000. He made approximately 693 changes...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

No straw man argument here and once again, you can’t have it both ways.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

If you believe that salvation is by works (at least in part) then you believe it’s earned (at least in part). Either we are saved by trusting or we are saved by working. Either Christ did it all or else we did some of it. You can’t have it both ways.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Exactly! How many good works must he accomplish and "add" as a supplement to Christ's finished work of redemption in order to help Christ save him? o_O Christ's finished work of redemption is sufficient and complete to save believers. (Romans 3:24-28) No supplements needed.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Simply believing in the existence of Jesus Christ and in certain facts about Him does not make you a believer (in the Biblical sense of someone who is saved). You still don't understand what a genuine believer is. The power is in Jesus' name and not in the person. Did Jesus validate their...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

It's actually you who keeps making the same mistake by misinterpreting the same scripture and there is a reason for that. (1 Corinthians 2:14) NOWHERE does Paul say we are saved by faith and works, but you are more interested in what Catholicism teaches than you are in what scripture actually...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

This Mormon woman personally told my wife and I about her experience. My wife has RLDS and LDS relatives and I’m familiar with their doctrines.

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Your saved by "these" works (good works) and just not "those" works (works of the law) argument has already been thoroughly refuted in posts #3380 and #3381.
