The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Not sure what you mean - but there is NO expiration date on 2 Thess. 2:15 . . .

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

WRONG. A person who simply goes to church and doesn't surrender to Christ is a pew-filler and nothing more. Your response speaks VOLUMES about your bizarre beliefs, though . . .

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Jesus DID live a perfect life - and He IS human AND God. You have been shown DOZENS of verses that sink your heretical Docetist argument - but you persist in your heresy. That's on YOU . . .

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

WRONG. I’ve provided scholarly evidence about FIVE times now. Your rejection of this evidence is YOUR problem – not mine. Without basis?? That’s a lie. I say “LIE” because you’ve already been shown this basis several times now. That is absolutely false. I went step-by-step in showing that...

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Ay, ay, ay – this is the tragedy of Protestantism. Tens of thousands of disjointed and perpetually-splintering sects that ALL teach different doctrines yet ALL claim that the Holy Spirit “led” them in their flawed interpretations. In YOUR case – the 16th century, man-made Calvinist abomination...

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Agreed. Because she is Kecharitomene at the Angel’s greeting - Mary’s sanctification was complete. To be endowed with grace is ONE thing. You might say that your glass is being filled throughout your lifetime. Mary is said to be full of grace – perfectly and completely. Therefore, her glass is...

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Sooooooo, where does 2 Thess. 2:15 say that everything The Apostles taught will eventually be written down in Scripture?? Answer: It DOESN’T. 2 Thess 2:15 "Stand firm and hold fast to the Traditions you were taught, either by an ORAL STATEMENT or by a letter from us."NO mention of an...

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

A pew-filler, hopefully on his way to surrendering to Christ.

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

I've already given you THREE. It's time to man up and address the Scriptural case I made.

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

And the point you keep missing because of your heresy is that, although He was human, Jesus lived a PERFECT life.

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Again – this is nothing but simple denial - disguised as an actual, valid response – which is it NOT. You keep running from my posts – no matter HOW I word them. I have asked you TWICE now to answer MY response to YOUR question about my “burden”. Here it is for a THIRD time: For “burden” #2 –...

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Luke 1:28 is absolutely about sanctification. The title means “one who has been COMPLETELY, PERFECTLY and ENDURINGLY endowed with grace.” Until you can REFUTE the implications of “Kecharitomene” – your argument goes right down the toilet with the excrement you claim I threw at the wall . . .

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Perhaps “flawed” was not the best word. What I meant to convey was that He had the same fragile human body that WE have. And yes, even flawed, in that he could be hurt, He could bleed and even be killed. This cannot happen in His glorified body.

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

You are conflating Redemption with Justification. Christ redeemed ALL of mankind on the cross – but NOT all mankind is justified. “Redeemed” simply means that he PAID for the sins of everybody. Unless we cooperate with that grace, we cannot be justified or saved.
  15. BreadOfLife

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

You‘re not paying attention – or you’re just being purposely obtuse. I never said that Kecharitomene means ONLY full of grace. It means MUCH more, as I have shown Does it means “full of grace”? Yes, but only partially. It means to be COMPLETELY, PERFECTLY, and ENDURINGLY endowed with grace...

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

    Because you haven't presented any.
  17. BreadOfLife

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Okay – so YOU believe that YOU gave birth to Jesus and that He dishonored His Mother. That’s not only heresy, it’s blasphemy – and it’s a really stupid conclusion. Christians believe that Jesus was speaking in general symbolic terms when He made this statement. In fact – my a second-grade...

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Nope. He had the same flawed flesh and blood – but committed NO sin (1 Cor. 5:21, 1 Pet. 2:22). The Scriptures says he was TEMPTED (Matt. 4:1-11). Only a true human being can be tempted. He ascended to the Father in His GLORIFIED Body.

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Excuse me – but WHERE does Scripture say that everything we believe must be explicitly written down in Scripture?? NOWHERE do the Scriptures make this claim for themselves. This is a 16th century Protestant invention – NOT a Scriptural truth. Secondly – Sacred Tradition is given to us in both...
