Good enough. If you've seen me, you've seen the Father. I and the Father are One. OK.

    Are the Ecumenical Councils valid?

I didn't like the idea of separation of church and state. For instance...I was sorry prayer was taken out of school. But then does theocracy take over? Why or Why not? How does one draw the line? It's a complicated subject matter.... I'm not sure anymore.

But why do you think we are following CULTURE and not our own private experiences? Sorry, but I haven't been following along... the above just caught my eye.

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

Epostle.... I've been trying to remember to post a disclaimer. I UNDERSTAND, believe me, the reasons WHY the Pope is doing this. And, yes, the rules for receiving (most of them) are disciplinary. BUT the matter of receiving with the Pope, Bishop's, Priest's blessing while IN MORTAL SIN is NOT...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

Agreed. There is no urgency in the catholic church. They teach that persons are to follow Jesus.... but with no urgency. They teach what He taught... but with no urgency. They also teach that persons are to follow CHURCH rules.... but with no urgency. They're so close and yet still far. I'm...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

I didn't correct you... I just repeated what you said...how am I supposed to know what you MEANT to say? As to the question... I'll go look again... This is what you wrote in post no. 443: This is what I am seeing, GG; you do not like BOL’s distinction between a discipline and Sacred...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

Well BoL... I haven't lost it yet... because giving communion to one in mortal sin is going against a DOGMA,,,not even a doctrine. And I guess I'm going to have to educate you as to HOW. All those "docs" you posted spoke about DISCIPLINE.... but how did they SHOW THAT what Pope Francis did is...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

What mistake? I don't really know what you're speaking of. And yes, we did derail. I'm sorry.

Thanks SBG,,,that's nice of you. It's nothing wild.... I think no one has ever seen God. God is spirit and we cannot see spirit. This would get into who it was that went to Abraham... but I hope not...it's really late here. What I believe is that when we say we met God (which I also say) I...

    Are the Ecumenical Councils valid?

Hi PJ,,, as per Catholic teaching, you are right that the individual should independently learn their faith. The question is,,,where? The CC, here, is not the best in giving instruction. I agree with the rest of what you've said. The church should be more responsible in offering teaching.

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

P.S. We're not discussing sacred scripture. I believe you haven't caught what we're discussing...not many catholics did or care to.

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

Are you serious? Have you read my posts? I was active in the catholic church when all this was happening. I know the argument and the reasoning inside out. it was covered ad nauseum. BoL is MAKING INCORRECT STATEMENTS and HE challenged ME to a debate. So here we are. Do YOU consider giving...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

page 4 of 4 Given that gradualness is not in the law itself (cf. Familiaris Consortio, 34), this discernment can never prescind from the Gospel demands of truth and charity, as proposed by the Church. For this discernment to happen, the following conditions must necessarily be present...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

page 3 of 4 The way of the Church is not to condemn anyone for ever; it is to pour out the balm 323 Apostolic Exhortation Familiaris Consortio (22 November 1981), 34: AAS 74 (1982), 123. 324 Ibid., 9: AAS 74 (1982), 90. 325 Cf. Catechesis (24 June 2015): L’Osservatore Romano, 25 June 2015, p...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

Page 2 of 4 Some forms of union radically contradict this ideal, while others realize it in at least a partial and analogous way. The Synod Fathers stated that the Church does not disregard the constructive elements in those situations which do not yet or no longer correspond to her teaching...

Is there salvation outside the Catholic Church?

This debate, as you call it...I instead think of it as YOU calling me names... but that matters not since it's all you know how to do. The DEBATE is about whether or not POPE FRANCIS has changed a DOGMA and/or DOCTRINE. Now, if YOU believe that giving COMMUNION to persons in MORTAL SIN (as...

    PEARL'S PEARLS; encouragement & inspiration.

It's a great gift. If I could find it later, I'll post a poem my daughter wrote when she was about 14. That's when she got saved. She's coming over in a little bit. See you later. Oh. She's much older now but I can't say how much older or then I won't be able to be 38 anymore!

Great posts! Did you write that poem in the O.P.? It's marvelous... Or Mahvelous...if you're old enough! (know what I mean?) Have more to say in a bit....
