The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

That's because some things ARE literal and explicit in Scripture - like the Eucharist. Purgatory is more implicit in Scripture. Are you NOT aware that Scripture is BOTH literal AND figurative??

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

WHO ever claimed that it was??

Pay to Pray eRosary from the Vatican

    Now, we're getting somewhere . . .

Pay to Pray eRosary from the Vatican

Uhhhhhhh, NO - you didn't. Unless you can show where the document orders the SALE of Indulgences - you have failed. This is an idiotic conversation. WHY would you post a document that has NOTHING to do with what you are claiming??

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

This is poetic language illustrating that there is NO suffering in Heaven. HOW can there be suffering in Heaven when there is a complete absence of imperfection and evil?? This is BASIC theology.

WRONG - different Liturgical Rites. We don't practice our faith in the exact same way so it's the same thing. YOUR insistence that ALL Catholics are "Roman" Catholics is an exercise in stupidity . . .
  7. BreadOfLife

Pay to Pray eRosary from the Vatican

This is an asinine claim. If I told YOU that the Declaration of Independence stated that we all had to wear miniskirts - the onus would be on ME to prove it. The onus is now on YOU to show me where in this document the Pope ordered the selling of Indulgences. Until you are prepared to do that...

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; Okay -- show me how this illustrates that suffering will continue in Heaven.

Pay to Pray eRosary from the Vatican

No - they're not. That's as mindless and stupid as saying that ALL Protestants are Lutherans because you agree with some of his invented doctrines. Try to stay focused. Your signature lie states that you are a "preacher". I can only hope that you're not a pastor with a mins as narrow as...

Pay to Pray eRosary from the Vatican

You mean, Instructio Summaria ad Subcommissarios Poenitentiam et Confessoris. Can you point me to the paragraph where the Pope orders the selling of Indulgences?
  11. BreadOfLife

Pay to Pray eRosary from the Vatican

The other NINETEEN Liturgical Rites are not "Roman" or Latin. So, your ignorant use of "RCC" is pointless . . .
  12. BreadOfLife

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Here you go - I'll even use your KJV . . . Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, NEITHER SHALL THERE BE ANY MORE PAIN: for the former things are passed away. This connotes no more SUFFERING - period. There can...

Did you get tired of Googling and not finding any documents??
  14. BreadOfLife

Pay to Pray eRosary from the Vatican

Sooooooo, you're ONLY talking about the Roman Liturgical Rite - and not the rest of the Catholic Church that is in full communion with the Bishop of Rome (the Pope)??
  15. BreadOfLife

Pay to Pray eRosary from the Vatican

I begged these anti-Catholics to stay on point, but they insisted on hijacking the thread.
  16. BreadOfLife

Pay to Pray eRosary from the Vatican

Then perhaps YOU can produce the document, declaration or decree that he wrote to promulgate this sale. Certainly, you can do this since it is so "widely known" - right?? Happy hunting . . .
  17. BreadOfLife

Pay to Pray eRosary from the Vatican

Yes, I am a Catholic of the Roman/Latin Rite - and so is he. However - in your ignorance - YOU lumped ALL Catholics into the same Liturgical Rite. Try to post fairly and honestly - instead of using the same tired old anti-Catholic nonsense . . .
  18. BreadOfLife

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Then, perhaps YOU can tell me how I didn't answer his post because @David Taylor doesn't seem to be able to. I eagerly await your intelligent response . . .
  19. BreadOfLife

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

No - it wasn't out of context. Rev. 21:4 states plainly that the tears and pain that once were will be NO MORE in Heaven. This connotes a suffering that will no longer take place. What part of that do you feel was not explained??

Pay to Pray eRosary from the Vatican

This post shows a woeful ignorance of Catholicism. The mass is not a "re-sacrifice". It is a re-presentation of Christ's ONE sacrifice. The problem with YOU is that you don't understand that His sacrifice is ETERNAL (Heb. 7:25, Rev. 13:8).
