Matthew 10:2 puts Simon & Andrew on exactly the same level. Matthew 4:18-22, Luke 5:1-11. "they" you know the truth of Matthew 16:17-19 and you have no excuse: that "Rock" is Christ, 1 Corinthians 3:11, and it isn't even the same word as 'Peter' - it is belief and faith in the deity of Jesus...

James does not defer to Peter's judgment. Stop worshipping men and women and read the rest of the passage. James points to scripture, not Peter, as the authority by which they should decide, and when they write the letter it says that 'it seemed good to the Spirit' not it seemed good to Peter.

You didn't address it, you just quoted it. In fact what you quoted was James standing up and summarizing the debate for everyone, as though it is James who is 'running' the council meeting. We can see James's preeminence over Peter again in Galatians 2, where Peter is literally afraid of ((v...

    The Rich man in Hell

Nothing in the text of Luke 16 indicates that vv. 14-31 is a parable. In fact there are indicators that it is not. You have to explain how Lazarus happens to be in 'Abraham's bosom' if you believe no one could be saved before the cross. Is Christ teaching deceitful myths and fairy tales?

no idea why you posted a big list of not-at-all-Acts-15 when i clearly said Peter appears to have no higher standing than James in Acts 15:13 ((well, i do have some idea; i'm not a noob - but it doesn't reflect kindly on you)) please. address my actual statement. address Acts 15.

Even then there were wolves among them, and not everyone who seemed to have authority was actually speaking from the Spirit - prime examples being Judaizers, the faction of believing pharisees in Acts 15, and 'certain men from James' in Galatians 2, all of which may have comprised the visible...

why does God say there are 7 churches in Revelation 1-3? why doesn't God give glory to one unified church under a pontiff? is God excommunicated? hmmmm

    Secure Eternal Salvation

'certain men came from Rome saying, they must perform rites, pray to the goddess, and give obeisance to us in order to be saved...' were they correct? were the believing pharisees in Acts 15 correct? were the men from James in Galatians 2 correct? was Peter correct in Galatians 2?

in Matthew 16, there are two words for rock - one is Simon Peter, and his name means a pebble. the other is petra, meaning a boulder, which isn't a person but a thing: belief that Christ is the Son of God. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. (1...

Saul wasn't persecuting the Roman church, but Messianic Jews. so, should the believing Jews be regarded as the head of the church? or should you also be regarded as persecuting Christ, if you persecute non-catholic believers?

He is the head of the body, the church (Colossians 1:18) we, many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. (Romans 12:5) i am not subject to an earthly organization. i belong to all believers, and all believers belong to me. if i say, 'my church needs an human king, like...

that is only a predicament if you presume all Christians are infallible. experience, as well as scripture shows that we are capable of frustrating the Spirit ((Isaiah 63:10, Acts 7:51, Galatians 2:21, Ephesians 4:30, 1 Thessalonians 5:19, etc)) so the Word is not contradicted, that we who...

But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly not! (Galatians 2:17)

Peter in Galatians 2 was acting immorally, which shows lack of faith. that is exactly why he was disciplined! only God Himself is infallible
