You're learning about John Calvin now? If anyone ever denies what @Lady Crosstalk just posted,,,and they might, the fact that cannot be disputed is that Calvin could have saved Servetus by presenting some documents to the court, instead he withheld it purposefully. I say this because there's...

I agree. He was not known for his cheerfulness and probably had some kind of mental or emotional problems. I just don't understand why we look to men of the 1500's for information instead of those that came immediately after Jesus. I like the men of old! Up till about 325AD...and not...

Actually, I don't have a favorite bible scholar. I believe in God's salvation economy. I have no problem with that. The O.T. people had faith in God,,,just like we do. I guess what I'm saying is that I have faith in GOD... some people think the bible is GOD...it's a book inspired by God.. God...

That's because you're a NORMAL person! Not everybody is. People are damaged... mentally, emotionally. They don't have a center of gravity...they're blown by the wind...here and there. Ephesians 4:14 You, and all of us, can be thankful that we know God and He keeps us from so much harm in this...

OK GH,,,,here goes. I can be pretty sure of what the Apostles taught because I read the Early Church Fathers, or the early theologians. They were taught by an Apostle or by someone that knew the Apostle. When I need a clarification,,,I like to go check what THEY believed. For instance....the...

We don't really know anymore JP. It used to be considered a mental disorder back in the 50's and 60's...not sure when it changed to what it has become TODAY... which seems to be a gender phenomenon. What do I mean by this? It does seem that some may actually choose this life-style. It seems...

If we can't trust God to keep His own commandments... who can we trust? Have you ever considered the the revelation of God was not complete in the O.T.? Do you realize that it took place 4,000 years ago? When the rest of the "world" was practicing pantheism? Your explanation will not be...

It fills up the pews, doesn't it? It's not easy to proclaim the true gospel... some can't take the truth...so they make it say what they want it to say. The N.T. does teach us that we will accept what our ears want to hear and that the gospel would be watered down as the end approaches. Matthew...

I didn't post wikipedia.! You never read the article...it's the perfect explanation for the Godhead/Trinity. I'll post it again.. Any other explanation of the Godhead/Trinity is of your own doing and does not correspond to the Christian belief of what the Trinity is. Trinity | Truth Challenge

@Lady Crosstalk I must add that I do know of some persons that SAY they are born again but don't act like it. Not that I like to judge souls..which we shouldn't...but I DO have eyes to see and ears to hear. I wonder if you're talking about these persons?

Could we talk about what it means to receive the Holy Spirit? I don't speak in tongues, although I know some that do. When I came to know God, it was like lightening...but it never became more than that in the sense that I felt a second "baptism". IOW, when one becomes born again and is born...

Right! I never thought of your last sentence. I have read some of the institutes....very little, but what I read there is just not the God that I know. Even less of the Westminster Confession. Will be doing that soon. I think that's pretty long too. (like the Catechism of the Catholic church)

When on earth and in the Garden, Jesus was praying to God Father. He was not praying to Himself. I posted a link for you twice. Did you read it? What was in the article with which you did not agree? When I'm given links I REPLY TO THEM... I didn't post them for fun. If you want to discuss the...

John was speaking about gnostics. They had already invaded the church...he wrote his epistles late...maybe about 80 or 85 AD. The word you might be thinking of, in fact, is gnosis...to know. You'll find that unbelief has the connotation of disobedience in the word...so we can know that to...

NO! Just the one in your verse. I'll do it. Here's your verse: 1 John 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. IOW, We may know that we have eternal life IF we believe in the name of the Son. John is...

Women to men.... since they started. And I remember them wanting to be men BEFORE we now have this problem of men that are very effeminate. I mean the young guys. I remember when men looked like this:

OK. But what IS the evidence point? It's in your verse.

Thanks A. Lots of info.

So some don't love the truth and are being fed lies. You betta hurry up and tell us what these lies are... 'cause I'm gettin' tireda waitin'.

As Paul said...O wretched man that I am... Mathew 7:24 WHO will set me free from this body of death? As the body without the spirit is dead... so is faith without works dead... James 2:26 Before we knew God,,,we were dead... a walking corpse. But then we awakened to our Spirit or the...
