Praying for you and your situation! Being in a rather similar situation I ask also for your prayers. My wife is especially vulnerable attaining 70 this month and with an already severely compromised immune system. She stays home, but sometimes I have to go out. Our city, a university town, has...

And does not context essentially speak of order... in this case, not the order of men, but of God? Consider Numbers, chapters 2 & 10. How well do we understand that? Help us dear Lord to understand!

If we are being led always by the Holy Spirit, we will follow the right pathway, the highway of holiness. Loving the truth of course is the secret, which is not a secret to anyone who does. The problem that some people have, I believe, is that they think they have to know all of the truth in...

My old pastor, now 95 and pushed out by misguided people used to call it a sandwich with the innards of it consisting of chapter 13. It was not open faced with only one slice, but a regular sandwich with two slices enclosing those innards. Does not the proper order come from God? The Book alone...

What is, I believe, worse than being wrong on one of these doctrines, is to allow yourself to get upset because someone else so insistently disagrees with you. If we cannot discuss differences with love/charity, perhaps it would be better to remain silent. Continuing a discussion/argument simply...

In the same light by the same Spirit!

Thank you for you honesty here. I understand what you believe and when it comes down to it, I could present an argument in favor of it myself based on what you have said and what I have read in the scriptures, but it is not what I believe that God has shown me. This and the Trinity and the...

To me it means going to the very bottom in all that I believe or, yes, think that I know. I received it from these verses: "When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him; And he that bade thee and him come...

I do believe in knowledge, God's knowledge, as being more sure than faith. Believers in God and His Son do have knowledge, but as I see it they are unable to correctly draw a line in themselves between that which is by faith and that which is by knowledge [God's, not man's, which causes...

I know that you are not alone in such a belief. To me it effectively makes God out to be a respecter of persons. I do suggest that you re-read the verses I posted on this thread. Jesus was sent because men were dead and without Him was there was no Hope for the Life that was lost by Adam and...

What does David mean here? "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit." Psalm 51:10-12

I've watched people argue this point and I have argued it myself. I believe that the Truth is Jesus because that is what is written. How well do we know Him? You are insisting on a conclusion. I could also insist on a conclusion, but God is right even if both you and I are wrong in our...

Do you not believe that being born again takes us back to where Adam and Eve were before they disobeyed? "Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God." Luke 3:38

Neither I nor any man can save himself or keep himself saved. "And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible." Mark 10:26-27 And who...

We may indeed have more than others who have not met the Master have or have had, but what did Jesus say? "Much is given... much is required" "But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be...

I disagree, but you must walk your own walk as I must walk mine. God will increase each of us as we persist and as the need arises.

Jesus was tempted as we according to Heb 4:15 but he still had the advantage over us. All of us did sin and all of us had formed bad habits, which when followed would lead us to sin again. Also within Jesus was all of the Word of God. We can eat his flesh and drink his blood and have it all...

Give God the glory! He always knows just exactly what He is doing. Sometimes He shares part of what He is doing with us... but in this flesh we may not be able to count on receiving that kind of a revelation...

My mind is pretty good for an old person, but I know very well that it falls far short of what it once was. I may not have worn out as many parts as badly as others, but they are wearing thin. If my 95 year old pastor who has known the scriptures all of his life were to read even one of my...

Jesus is most certainly the answer, but it comes again, does it not, to what He really meant when he said "believe". It is God's meaning that matters. Do we fully understand what He means? We do live by faith rather than by knowledge, do we not? And faith...? "Now faith is the substance of...
