The most "evident" truth of scripture

A person who obeys God is not trying to justify himself....his duty is to obey God. Any scheme of men that seeks to justify themselves whether by act or by belief is wrong.

The most "evident" truth of scripture

I'm using your own interpretation back onto you. You don't see the works of the law as Judaism...but that is what Paul is talking about. You see works of the law as obedience to the law you feel is not required?

The most "evident" truth of scripture

You may be confusing the words of the law with the works of faith. The written code, as you call it, is what you are basing a bad understanding of grace on. So you yourself are also trying to justify yourself because of a written code. But the work of God is that we walk like Jesus and do no sin.

Agreed! We are to walk in actual fellowship with God in the light. We can walk as Jesus walked by the grace of God which is the power of Christ in us.

    research question regarding grace

Grace is misunderstood by those seeking to benefit from it personally. Grace is actually the power God gives us to live as Jesus did. 2Co_12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my...

And blindness is a lack of sight in any light! That depends how you see being faithful. People do a lot of things supposedly FOR God...but we as Christians are to do things IN God.

    The Religion Box

Aren't you going off again and eliminating the main part? Jesus says...I never knew you...to people who think they are doing Him a service. I would think then getting to know God more deeply is the whole point.

Amen!!! The whole purpose of the bible is to show us the way through the testimony of they who have experienced God in a very personal way...now go do likewise!!! :)

    Never Guilty—Never Disappointed

You are thinking like a natural man. Our victory is to walk in Him and His victory. 1Jn 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 1Jn 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1Jn 2:5 But whoso...

Amen! People always try to pervert the goodness of God. If they can't have it then it must be bad!!! This is why it is never wise to judge anything from ourselves.
  14. Episkopos

    Never Guilty—Never Disappointed

It is by faith that we overcome all things!!! Unbelief remains defeated. 1Jn_5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

1Co 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know...

We have a crisis where Christians are being enticed into following Judaism?

1Jn_2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. Gal_5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Rom_6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the...

Gal_6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
