I believe that @CharismaticLady already mentioned this and it is what I also believe. Jesus came the 1st time and lived the overcoming example and laid down himself unto death at Calvary. He came again [2nd time for him to you and to me] into anyone born again to purify and perfect us... to...

@Behold My Bibles are all very worn from handling in reading and study and prayer. My commentaries purchased many years ago mostly in second hand book stores are just like new because I have used them so rarely. You speak of Leviticus and the red blood to which Esau was partial in Genesis ...

Oh yes...! "Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may may consume it upon your lusts." James 4:2-3 "To every thing there is a season, and a time to...

@BarnyFife Your question does not define "the resurrection". Consider this conversation I had with @VictoryinJesus last year, which I saved to my computer: Time is not an issue with God, but with men. Anyone truly already born again [born from above or born of God] has already been...

Again, amen!

Amen!

Don't presume that hearing His Voice must be a voice audible to the carnal set of ears attached to the sides of your head. When you read the Bible with understanding, that can be God speaking to you. People here and elsewhere will describe the baptism of the Holy Spirit this way or that...

They also were given the ability to disobey God. That ability is what men name "free will". When a person is really born again he goes back to where Adam and Eve were before they disobeyed. He is clean, but he has a course to travel, which is the time each one is allotted here. Each born again...

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Matt 7:7-8

"And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." Matt 19:24 When I was very young I thought my family was poor, but I really had not a clue. Later in Mexico, Viet Nam, Colombia and the Dominican...

I guess as long as no one else misses her, who's to know?

Long ago when we had our own home, my wife would speak of simply burying me in the back yard when the time came. Now we don't have our own back yard anymore and I would really be surprised if the landlord would allow her to bury me here.

If we had the Life that Jesus brought when natural death came to us then there was definitely something that would never die. I wouldn't worry too much about the ashes or dust in the ground or the sea. Is not our God able? Consider this: "And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham...

Thank you for the invitation. To me the drinking and eating is not symbolic. What they did when they were with Jesus may have been, but what we are to do is not. It is real as Jesus is real. Consider what his flesh is: "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory...

Understood! When my mother died in 2006, my three brothers in California and Oregon had her cremated. Each of them took their one quarter portion of the ashes and offered to send a share to me in Oklahoma. I did not need her ashes for any purpose really and declined their offer. I remember her...

Whose words here are better than those of Jesus? Did what Jesus say in Matthew 5 as cited in post #3 have little to do with the Grace of God? "That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just...

"Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the...

That's very much like me trying to sit up at my computer when I've had one of my short sleep nights!

:):p:D:)

I'll go for Gomer! I have a personal reason to connect with him. When my son was a new born I was driving for a limousine service in the San Francisco Bay Area and was given the job for a week to be Gomer's [Jim Nabors] personal driver. He was co-host for one of those TV variety shows [Mike...
