There are many things in scripture which would might help someone understand better about hearing from the Holy Spirit directly. Perhaps the story of Elijah Not hearing from God in the wind, or the earthquake, or the fire... but hearing it rather in a "still small voice" is one of the best ones...

Sometimes, yes, but sometimes it seems some are more akin to the Pharisees of old more concerned with having it their own way than in encountering God's truth no matter what the cost. Do any of us always have it as right as God does?

As I said I have not been keeping up on court cases and new laws in this regard, but it was to me believable [not unbelievable, but I had already learned not to trust people] when I first read about the Patriot Act, because it confirmed that few people really cared about the rights of anyone not...

There is never an end in sight, Nancy, as to how much we may be able to hold. God has no limit. We, on the other hand, are continuously it seems limiting Him. All we have to is give Him the reins to us and then stop taking them back again...

"Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." I John 1:8 Just seek the answer to the question: Is perfection in the scripture always exactly equal to having no sin in the...

How 'good' would it be, really? Consider when a name is changed for a reason, God's reason. The first name given had a purpose as likely also did the second, but was there not also a message from God to be found in the change? Consider Jacob and Israel. Jacob means "heel holder" or supplanter...

This what I believe: God has spoken His Word and He is unable to go against His own Word. Part of what He has spoken has given men the authority for a period of time disobey God's Word. This is what the first Adam and Eve did in the Garden. It is what all of their offspring have also done. What...

Even as you say, it may be indeed! There is never a limit with God except the limit we put on Him.

The changing is NOT from the way people were made in the beginning in the case of Adam and Eve prior to their disobedience. Rather the changing is what is made possible by God sending His Son to us with Life. Before Jesus and the outpouring of the Holy Ghost, everyone was dead. The change God...

Just for your information. First from the following site to update information I have which is much older: How does the Patriot Act strip away the Bill of Rights? | YoExpert Q&A Copied from above site: On September 11th, 2001 America witnessed an atrocity. What exactly happened on that day is...

In one way or the other! Give God the glory!

Sister, just keep your trust always with the Lord. If you are wrong and it makes a difference, God will correct you. If you are right and your apparent opponent needs to know, God will also make it so. Unfortunately, sometimes we have to go through things that on the surface seem very unfair to...

I haven't checked it lately but from what I remember under the Patriot Act even citizens when accused [accused, not convicted] of terrorism may lose their right to due process. The powers that be may not have used this much thus far [but how can I know for certain?], but that law was passed a...

I agree with your words as I understand them, but as you already know correct discernment of truth comes from God alone. For us, once we have received the Holy Spirit, that should mean letting the Holy Spirit always be our leader. Give God the glory!

@My Dreams Praying for this difficult situation!

I know and have known a few who had a regular communication between them and God, but the word is "few". Lots of pew warmers in churches for certain. But I have also known some who hardly ever attend a church but who do communicate regularly with God.

Thank you for clarifying. I grew up as a devout Catholic so I understand something about that way even formal Catholicism ended for me many years ago. One thing that I started as a Catholic was a personal communication with God. I don't know many Catholics involved in that. Most of them were...

It is not that the kind of closeness cannot exist here. It is that even when we really love God as we should, we are so often among so many people who don't know Him at all or are lukewarm. Every once in while God has eased my loneliness here by bringing by for a while another person who also...

@Hisman Whatever that means...? The Catholics, the Mormons, the JWs, the Oneness Jesus Only, the tongue talkers, the non-tongue talkers, the various Baptists, the trinitarians... All of those and more I have seen under personal attack without good cause although often the attackers might deny...

Are you are presuming along with many here perhaps that Heaven is someplace besides where we are right now. What are we able to see right now? But as to what God has in store for people who love Him... "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the...
