Jack Van Impe Appointed by God to Warn the World that Jesus is about to Return!

This is precisely what the Millerites believed about their leader. And the followers of Joseph Smith . . . And the followers of Edgar Cayce . . . And the followers of Harold Campion . . . And the followers of Charles Taze Russell . . . And the followers of Hal Lindsey . . . And the list goes on...

    BAPTISM

WRONG. God appointed His CHURCH to teach all nations . . . Matt. 20:19-20 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and TEACHING them to obey everything I have commanded you. The Holy Spirit works through...

Who is the Whore of babylon

Once again - Greek is NOT English. Strong's explains the phrase: tn Grk “but the body of Christ.” The term body here, when used in contrast to shadow (σκιά, skia) indicates the opposite meaning, i.e., the reality or substance itself. tn The genitive τοῦ Χριστοῦ (tou Christou) is appositional...

As I stated before - those Churches were set up by Catholic Bishops like Timothy. The Apostles all appointed Bishops to different regions around the known world who started these Churches. As for Ethiopia and Persia - they were planted by Matthew and Thomas.

Not always. Only in matters of faith.

Why don't you just go to the source?? In your ignorance, you have named the RITE - not the Church. The Catholic Church is comprised of 20 Rites. Among these are the Melkite, Byzantine, Maronite, Coptic, and Latin (Roman). The official name of the Catholic Church is . . . "The Catholic Church"...

    BAPTISM

The word "Baptism" doesn't necessarily mean immersion - as I showed you. The word "Adelphos" means "brother". Yet, it can be illustrated from the pages of Scripture that it ALSO means half-brother, step-brother, cousin, uncle, nephew, distant relation, fellow believer, etc.

    BAPTISM

That's why I gave you TWO verses.

Who is the Whore of babylon

Your ENTIRE argument collapses in the phrase "The reality is in Christ". in verse 17. Paul wrote that these things "are" a shadow of things that WERE (what was) to come - and that they were all FULFILLED in Christ anyway. Finally - I thought you were going to give me your interpretation of the...

    BAPTISM

Ezek. 36:25-27 is NOT an "exception". It is a PROPHECY about Baptism. BIG difference . . . In John 3, Jesus was speaking with Nicodemus who asked Him HOW a man is reborn. Jesus answered him: John 3:5 "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of WATER and the SPIRIT he cannot enter into...

    BAPTISM

Where does the Bible teach this?? Where does the Bible get into the different linguistic nuances of the word "Baptism"?? I eagerly await your response . . .

Who is the Whore of babylon

Really?? 2 Pet. 3:16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. The mistake that the Scriptures...

    The trouble with religion

No - YOUR calling it a "biscuit" is the problem with having a complete lack of faith . . .

    ABOUT BAPTISM

And once again - you fail to show where the Commandments have been abolished.

    The trouble with religion

    What "zing"?? I answered this in post #94 . . .

    The trouble with religion

I don't worship a biscuit - I worship Christ. And you wonder why you aren't allowed to receive the Eucharist . . .

    ABOUT BAPTISM

"Seems to me" is where you made your mistake . . . There is not ONE SINGLE verse in ALL of the NT that illustrates the method of Baptism. That is a fact. As Christians, we rely on Apostolic Tradition for the method.

    ABOUT BAPTISM

And this is just another cheap interpretation made by a guy who has been beaten up with the truth pretty badly over the last few pages . . .

    The trouble with religion

NONE of this is "worship". The Rosary is a petition for Mary to pray FOR us. YOUR problem is that you're gullible because you don't do your homework. Mary Anne Collins is wrong. She isn't automatically "right" simply because she was a nun - any more than YOU are right about any of the things...

    The trouble with religion

And MY religion says that the Eucharist is the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ - and that those who receive unworthily are guilty of sinning against the Body and Blood of Christ (1 Cor. 11:29).
