Yes, read it lots of times...it isn't a law!! Just as the face of Moses glowed with the overflow of God's glory after being with the Lord 40 days...so our souls should glow through our inner and outer life ...when our lives reflect the relationship we have daily with the living God. I...

I have a bit of a problem with the phrase. " faith needs works" I would say that there is something very wrong...or immature in the life of a Christian saved by grace through faith...who does not REFLECT and heart ( works) of Father God. But I am still reading one page back, and have not read...

I was going to post a long post here ..but so many have posted 'good stuff' I don't really have to. I see no problem..Paul is hammering away at salvation by faith..and getting the hearers free from mixing law with grace...and James as I see it BUILDS upon that, by saying ..being saved by grace...

I can't go with you there... We know the original was in Isaiah 61 Jesus quoted it in Luke 4. As we know..Jesus did not say the last bit..." And the vengeance of our God." I do not understand why people still think....after ALL Jesus came to do in fulfilling His Fathers Will and Plan..planned...

Great poem. God bless your pastor....may he have many more years of service in or out of the pulpit. ✟

@Copperhead I admit flip flop about the book of Revelation. I can't agree with those who say that it has already happened and it's history ( two of our friends believe that) Neither can I say that none of it has happened...so I sit in the middle...it is both! = Some has happened, ( maybe...

Haha! Well said Job. :D Darn, and I said I wasn't posting in this thread any more. I've made myself into a liar!! LOL

Amen!! Totally agree. :) Sorry, just couldn't stop my fingers from underlining and bolding...LOL =

I can't see that...but hey, we've got to give him 10 out of 10 for 'staying the course'.

Well said Scott. :) @H. Richard You started a really good and interesting Thread here. Thank you!

AMEN!!!! So very true...that if anything is a sure sign that we are entering into the time of the great tribulation! But...The Son's of God will be born through tribulation.

I am 100% with you on that and have believed that for years. I have said it over the years in different ways...but I always get the kick back cry of "elitism" I have found Christians hate hearing that we are not all 'one happy, clappy' Blob in heaven, everyone equal...all you have to do is say...

Good one @amadeus

It seems that people can either 'see it' or not. No one is saying that there are no works that the Christian life produces. The works that are NOT required are anything that Christians do because they have been told they must do ( either told by man, or told by the Enemy!) Any Christian...

Q Aren't all the parable proceeded with the line " The kingdom of heaven is like.." ? If so Jesus is painting pictures of the Kingdom for us to see. Therefore is it not an invitation for us to choose now, to be where we would wish and hope to be In The Kingdom? Who chooses to be a server at...

@KBCid So why did Jesus say that about anyone blaspheming the Holy Spirit? In Matt " And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to...

No, I have never heard of him. My husband found him yesterday and was impressed by his typology to the scriptural characters and todays in this above video. Thanks, will take a look-see.

:D I am watching this thread as it unfolds....good 'arguments' here...I must say I had never ever thought how you showed it in your post. Bless you...H

Agree. Some good posts. "Show me your faith by your yours"... Once a person understands that the works James is speaking about are the works that automatically flow outward from our inner man of the Spirit, (and not from works of trying to add-works to our salvation) then we see no conflict...

It is once again C O L D here in western Canada. And we have snow, but it's almost wet, so it's not settling. That said, I probably like that better than your humidity there Job...humidity makes me like a wet noodle and lifeless. I will also spend the day indoors. Have a...
