@justbyfaith Your verse speaks of "the doctrine". I wrote "our own determined theology". Hardly the same. "The doctrine" of the verse if correctly understood should, I believe, be God's understanding. My understanding, or yours, or both could be wrong. This is why we are not qualified as...

"I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins." John 8:24 Who is he? "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of...

And is this your own gospel? What about what Jesus said here? "And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" John 11:26 If we believe in Jesus, we shall never die, but who is Jesus? Because another person's understanding of who Jesus is, is not yours, is that...

Or a bit of sarcasm. None of us is ever sarcastic either... But every man is a liar. God alone is not a liar so when a man never lies then perhaps his tongue, that by man untamable thing, has indeed been tamed: "For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea...

I believe the program for the forum automatically puts words repeated by the quote system in italics.

"Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts." Prov 21:2 Where does the scripture read that a person must believe that Jesus is God and equal to his Father in order Not to die in his sins? If a man is in error with regard to the nature of God, will he be lost...

Indeed and see Moses and his brother, Aaron: "And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet." Ex 7:1 Or see Pharaoh words to Joseph, which could also be like unto the Father's words to Jesus: "Thou shalt be over my house, and...

Permanent import? Hmmm it seems to me it would be limited to our allotted time here: "Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it." Ecc 12:7

What about the men without hair?

Well I started playing a bit before that while still in high school [1957-1961]. I really got interested in playing when I got out of the army in 1966 but only with friends who also played. I taught my wife the game and we played all the time, but that is all history now. I'll take your word on...

End of the Viet Nam War and Nixon! Not a popular war at all and in the end an unpopular president! Could that have something to do with it?

I really doubt that that had anything to do with it. [I really don't know,] People don't like to change their daily routines and that would have required such a change. My teachers for the most part in high school and college were for the change... but I guess they were too small of a voice to...

I remember when I was a teenager, my aunt taught me ten finger typing. I never got good at it until I went to work for Social Security. There I had to do so much lengthy writing my handwriting, which was never neat, got so bad that sometimes I couldn't read it myself. I went to the typewriter in...

Also done!

But people really do confuse the two [Christ and Scripture] or use one when they should be using the other and do not even realize it. Simple ignorance is an excuse for a time, but there is time limit: "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to...

It is also self-evident for anyone with "eyes to see" that most people, which must include a very large number bearing the label of Christian are not very Christ-like in their life styles in the United States and in the Western countries sometimes called Christian. It has been named "creeping...

Yes, God looks at the heart but part of the contents of our heart are what we have done with all that He has given us and why... We cannot change the past, but today should always belong to God. The decisions we make should all be to make us more like Him and to please Him. Does God not care...

How important is one's own skin to God? After the fact of disobedience when God comes upon them and Adam... "... said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked?" Gen 3:10-11 "Unto Adam also and to...

All of the other youngsters are probably out playing golf! Tennis was always my game!

With regard to the differences, my wife has told me repeatedly over the years that men grow old whereas women simply mature as does fine wine. She is just days short of being 7 years younger than me and I hold onto those few days when it seems to be only 6 years... [Nov 24 to Dec 3 each year] :):D
