Actually the versions themselves are only stepping stones and doctrines alone even correct ones will not save us. If we keep our eyes always on the goal, will not God direct us to the Light at the end without regard to all of the details on the pathway? Is not the "always" the key? "Blessed are...

Apology accepted! I would however suggest that in the future if you want to discuss a specific event or group of verses to mention them specifically in the Title and/or in your first post. You used the expression "self-taught" as if that covered the territory and asked a question expecting I...

I have also been active in many discussion groups bearing a Christian label on the Internet during the last 20 years. I might even agree with you in a measure, but your written words were too absolute. I could list a whole lot of forums on which I have been a member , and it would surprise me...

That is a pretty Absolute statement. Who among us even knows all of the teachers on Christian discussion groups? Even if a person did know all of them, how would he or could he qualify to judge that none, that is not even one, of them was 'gifted'? "For I would that all men were even as I...

You mentioned your teacher and asked about mine. Since the verse I quoted indicates that the Holy Ghost teaches "all things" how could it be off topic? To me, whether we are listening to the Holy Ghost speak through a man or receiving directly from God in us, it is most certainly on the 'topic'...

And was this your teacher too? "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." John 14:26

"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15

You only asked for thoughts and already some it seems to me are in an attack mode. Is that the 8th one in you list? A major problem of my own in considering your list would is the word, heresy, in the Title of the thread. I guess I know what my own definition of 'heresy' is but I suspect it is...

It certainly remains a mystery to those without "eyes to see"! Need some of that eye salve!

"The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us." Ecc 1:9-10

I sincerely pray that one day you will humble yourself and call on His name asking that He give you a vision of Truth. As Solomon wrote 3,000 years ago without a vision, the people of God will perish. An Interpreter is always required to understand what God is saying. When Jesus was walking in...

Without the lead of the Holy Spirit a person cannot understand God's message to us in written scripture. People who study scripture without encountering God get the wrong message! They lean on the letter, which is death and miss Life! "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth...

Logic? Since when should we follow the logic of our own carnal mind rather than the Holy Spirit? "O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps." Jerem 10:23 "And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by...

Care for your flesh well for as long as it lasts. This is part of our stewardship, but we are stewards also of the 'new man' who does not eat meat and potatoes and who has no love for the money of men and what it is able to purchase. How does one move from an heir to owner? There is a Life...

Actually living as if today were the last day might come closer to what will do the job! "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." Matt 6:34

Thank God for the work of the Gideons!

@My Dreams Even so... But without God Himself in our hearts leading us as we read, what can see in it? What can we understand of it? What can we do with it? "And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible." Mark 10:27

@By The Grace Welcome to the forum!

@My Dreams Joining here in praying for you!

I am praying that you will always allow yourself to be led by the Holy Spirit!
