@Justadude Welcome to the forum!

Those "canned" tongues of the many preachers you have heard may well be either a false tongue, or baby talk. I have no doubt that both exist! When a human child is born to his mother for quite a while he makes sounds which are often described as babble for that is what they are. He does not come...

@Willie T I started to read it earlier today, but soon was unable to stay focused or interested partly because its complexity, (even though it was within an area [linguistics] I had studied a little many years ago), and partly because it was heading toward a conclusion I recognized as being...

If I am understanding you correctly is in what salvation is to you and what it is to me. Are they different? I can only relate how I understand it: For me final salvation only is ours when we have finished our course walking with Him. Grace I guess is the covering and power of the Holy Spirit on...

@Brakelite2 Do I need an education on this? I have heard a lot of people speak of a second coming, but I have seen something which has raised real questions in me. Jesus came in the womb of Mary as a child of flesh at Bethlehem. That was certainly His first coming, was it not when He came for...

I was talking about standing still like the water in the Dead Sea in which life cannot be sustained. You will have to explain for yourself what you were talking about.

Well thank you, at least now I understand better what you see as the problem.

Sorry I have no idea what that phrase 'straw man argument' means! If I have mixed you up with someone else, I sincerely apologize. I had thought it was you who made such statement against him. Glad to hear this. My impression has been that you are usually sharply opposed to him. Is that also...

To stand on the Word of God is one thing, but to stand still is quite another...

I admit to having trouble answering you. It is not because I do not know what I believe, but rather simply that there are some basic differences between us that make communication difficult or even impossible. Often it is like you speaking Russian when I am speaking Chinese. Little or no common...

This looking at the mirror thing is why women's looking glasses were used at the laver so flaws could be clearly seen or identified. As I said, the key is to let God decide on every issue. If something you already have is right, God won't change it. But if something is wrong and you fail to...

Are you already an overcomer as Jesus was an overcomer? Does anything in your day to day routine and walk ever overcome you? When would you say as a 'born again' person did you move from a troubled immature teenager to one with the maturity of Jesus? Every step we take should be directed by the...

Give God the glory OLIGOS! We do live in an evil world! It is not evil because of God who in the beginning made it all very good. Only those who have already overcome the world as Jesus did no longer make any evil. Even on the best of Christian forums as in the best of Christian assemblies on...

Do you not believe it is necessary to grow toward God for as long as we have time? Do you not believe that to stand still is eventually to stagnate and die? Even with the very best new thing God has given us, each one of us, if we stop there, as if that were the very last God had to give us...

No I did not see you disagreeing, but people often don't communicate with each other for various reasons. Whether they are using a printed Bible [any language or version] or they are speaking with their mouths or typing on a computer they often fail to get their message across to the other guy...

Ohhh! My initial misunderstanding and failure to check more closely on this. I now see the word, agnostic, shown as your 'faith'. I shall proceed accordingly as I am able... Not a bad answer, but as I see from your example of yourself today that something was missing. Some Christians would say...

Ah yes, also then to be more politically correct! In my younger days, I guess we saw it in the good witches who on the side of right. Thanks for the information.

I have not read all of this thread but your words on this post caught my attention. As a servant of God, which I assume that you are, do you arrive at God's truth only by study? If you doubt that the Bible, [66 or 72 books of it?] was in fact written by men as they were inspired by Him to do so...

Ah... then maybe he is talking about Star Wars. I've seen advertisements, previews, etc. but I have never watched a Star Wars movie so I am certainly ignorant on the subject. Did they manifest something important for children of God?

Absolutely! Threads like this one make me wonder what some people on this forum really want: the Truth, or any argument or simply to win an argument as if winning would win someone to God. Only God gives the increase! Catholics, including the Pope, have problems like we all do to strive to...
