Actually what we are to do is to continuously humble ourselves going down to the very lowest place and then allow God to lift us up again... if He so wills to an even higher place: "And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted." Matt 23:12

We may not be correct in the way we express it but there certainly is growth toward God as opposed to moving away from God. Look at the example of the flesh. The flesh when it is properly fed grows physically toward maturity, but as we know there is more to maturity than getting physically...

But then again, is it not on the right road moving in the right direction?

Oh my head! That hat is getting to be too tight or..?

@marks @lforrest Many thanks for the prayers!

"If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee." Psalm 139:11-12

"I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see." Rev 3:18

@101G Thanks!

@Helen Thanks! All is appreciated.

I am scheduled for dental surgery on the Jan 30th. An old crown came out after who knows how many years leaving the old roots in place. I would be ready for that but now my wife and I have contracted the flu. I doubt the dentist will cut on me while I am hacking [coughing] and have a sore...

Even so! Give God the glory!

Actually I agree with you. Give God the glory!

While I disagree further discussion at the moment won't be helpful for me. I cannot speak for you or others. See you around the forum!

What I see are the foreknowledge of God, the plan of God, the free will of man and nature of God all involved here along probably with other things that did not occur to me at the moment. Unless we both understand each thing the same and/or we understand the other person's view as well as our...

@Jairmii Colosi Praying for you and your special and all of the other things and people you have mentioned here. Let be according to God's will!

If his flesh were not corruptible he would not have been tempted. He would have had nothing to overcome. He did overcome the world. I won't debate this issue with you. I know that I cannot convince anyone of anything unless God chooses to use me for that purpose. Of course the same thing holds...

The only way any man is going end up on the Lord's side is by submitting himself to God's will. It was never about you or me winning a prize in a contest between our skills and experiences. Rather, the winners will be those who surrender to Him and allow Him to lead the way all the way to the...

I don't believe that. God always had a plan which included the time that Jesus spent here as a man. When we read the Book, the Bible that is, we do, each of us, have biases according to where we are. Our biases affect our outlook, unless we have managed already to overcome even those biases.

Actually it is our first chance as you put it, "to sink or swim". Do you really believe that God is a respecter of persons?
