'What comes out of the mouth is the overflowing of the heart' ... listening carefully will identify the spirit that speaks irrespective of the tag/identity people choose to put forward.

'by different ways' I mean the same story is described using varying imagery. Gods justice executed, God's mercy revealed. It is against people who in the context are represented by the sin bearer. He bears their sin single handedly.

    An interesting question.......

I used to think these scenes were a set up but then realised it was the free universe vindicating God. That changed my perspective altogether and my heart jumped and throbbed with the prospect.

By Whose stripes you were healed...

I I find it interesting to note that the Jews who believed in him (Jn 8:31) further down in vs 50 picked up stones to stone him. Yes, without an inner renewal all external piety is just show and smokescreens.

Yes, the context reveals it is vengeance against sin. Isa. 40 onwards portrays Gods view and redeeming activity in different ways. For the the Jews not to see this is one thing but for Christians to miss this is indicative of misappropriation and an ignorance of of how the scriptural puzzle...

    An interesting question.......

Ohhh yes, stepping back, looking forward. Too often my small subjective view blurs or stunts the bigger picture yet as I read in Revelation of millions upon millions of angels and the saved singing and extolling God's rightness I am lifted from the temporal to the eternal. I'm reminded of Paul's...

    The Return

Ahhhh, some things roll off the tongue, some burst from the heart and yet others the pen. Poetry gives me permission to break the rules of English. Not that the rules necessarily need breaking but the flexibility evokes a certain freedom. The scriptures too paints word pictures which we are...

Isaiah 63 paints the word picture of God dealing with God regarding the sin problem. God revealing himself and being glorified in the process with men as beneficiaries praising his unspeakable gift. Let me explain how I see it. This word imagery of Gods great plan of redemption from a...

I'd like to have a calm, rational conversation about End Times...anyone?

Hello Naomi25 Here is my two bobs worth after reading your posts and the various responses to your topic. Firstly, it is clear to me your intentions are honourable. By saying that I mean you are not just pushing a pre chewed view that attempts to force private ideas into the scriptures intent...

    Does "LAW" matter?

Hello all, greetings! Newby here. My name is Kornelius Re does 'LAW' matter... Without further ado, here is something to consider; Jesus died because the law mattered. He died precisely because it was not possible for the Law to be changed or abrogated. If it was possible for the law to be...
