What benefit does it produce to make Jesus God

It must take a lot of mental discipline to write such things AND claim Jesus is God. Is it truly your position that God almighty submits to the will of another?

Does John 1:1 say Jesus is God

Appeal to Diversion. I see what you did there! Pretend he is not talking about what John 1:1 actually says - logos. Out of nowhere assert something irrelevant to John 1:1. Does your Bible say Jesus is a servant of God? Mine does. The only reason Jesus is called a servant of God is because he...

    Unitarianism vs Trinitarianism

Of course. You have to retreat to opinion because the facts are not on your side. P1. Hosea 11:9 explicitly says God is not a man. P2. Jesus is a man (explicitly stated numerous times) C. ? Trinitarians want to subordinate explicit text to verses they say imply that a man is God.

    Unitarianism vs Trinitarianism

You missed my point. The Bible says many times God, the Father and Jesus - 2 Beings. This time it omits the Father and trinitarians claim the and refers to one person. John 1:1 does not even reference Jesus but you credit it anyway.

    Unitarianism vs Trinitarianism

This proves that the deity of Christ is EXTREMELY unclear, given the ‘clearest’ statement has the equally valid reference of 2 people.

Saved by Faith vs Repentance and Obeying the Commandments

I was saved by Prevenient Grace. THE moment of truth for me was the choice to OBEY the prompting of God's Holy Spirit, to tell a saint doing missionary work in Haiti to delay his trip. There is one thing I'd like the world to know about this. Although people think obeying is subjugation and...

Does John 1:1 say Jesus is God

How do you do bible study?

Text proof Jesus is not God as Rom 10:9 requires as a point of salvation that you believe God - meaning God in his wholeness, in his unitarian nature - raised Jesus from the dead. Misinterpretting John 1:1 all you want does not change this. Furthermore, you have to take John 1:1 from the...

How do you do bible study?

LOL. Did his mother Mary call him to dinner that way? "The Word of God, dinner is ready." The claims just more and more preposterous.

How do you do bible study?

Again, we've covered this. You are going beyond God's word, leaning on your own understanding of the doctrine of the trinity.

How do you do bible study?

We've covered this numerous times. Words are WHAT's not WHO's.

Does John 1:1 say Jesus is God

Dualism. While you admit it does not always mean Jesus, you insist it means Jesus without qualification. And again, the Bible is not a dictionary. It does not define words. It must be very liberating to not be confined by: 1. Definition 2. Logic 3. Language Usage 4. Explicit Scripture.

Does John 1:1 say Jesus is God

No. 1st, the OP recognizes theos is not logos. Therefore, the literal reasoning of God is not literally God but figuratively a god. 2nd, the Bible is not a lexicon. It does not define words. Having said that, not every use of the word "word" in Scripture refers to Jesus. John 1:1-5 is one of...

    A Form of godliness

Could or could not are potential. We aren’t talking about potential but actual. And there is no actual verse that says Jesus came in the form of an angel.

    A Form of godliness

Jesus is not God. Jesus is a man. Perhaps man existed before our incarnation; so yes.. Doesn’t make us or Jesus God.

    Unitarianism vs Trinitarianism

Turning this conversation to a serious matter, regarding our love for God and expertise in the subject matter, how to you broach the subject to those in the dark? For most of my life, I've relied on not throwing pearls before swine. In more recent years, I realize that is a bit of a crutch. I...

    A Form of godliness

No. Jesus was praying to his God - who we relate to as Father, Jesus and us - in the Garden of Gethsemane.

What benefit does it produce to make Jesus God

In the 150+ pages this thread has gone on, I think it's been brought up a number of times that the wording of the premise under discussion could have been more precise.

What benefit does it produce to make Jesus God

Besides violating the 1C, If Jesus were God incarnate who merely took on the form of a man and only appeared to die, it has no theological significance at all, for God is all powerful and can do anything. 1 Timothy 2:5 (NLT) There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and...
