    Should women teach the bible?

I also my friend! Many times over the years my wife and I have served God, He has given our direction through her instead of through me. We need to pay attention to our other half. Being the head, does NOT mean being the boss!

The Influence of Islam on Christendom

I don't really remember the details of all the crusades, but what I do remember is that they turned out to be more of an excuse for plunder on the part of the crusaders than to accomplish whatever the supposed goals were supposed to be. One of the crusades was composed of young children and...

"The 'Implied' meaning should be obvious!" (A Dangerous Statement)

I believe I understand what you mean, but you should word it more carefully so that hopefully everyone does... understand that is. For the most part none of us have really suffered even simple hardship, much less actual severe persecution. My old pastor remembers going to a camp meeting about...

The Influence of Islam on Christendom

And as we know the way the Jews traveled did not work... yet as you say in this sense now, they have "a better more graceful approach to the problem of they who are not of the same faith" than the way that most describe as Christianity!

The Influence of Islam on Christendom

As for the totalitarianism of what is commonly known as Christianity or Christendom consider the Crusades which @Episkopos also mentioned who chose to fight fire with fire instead of following the Way of Jesus. "And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that...

The Influence of Islam on Christendom

We were brought out of darkness into Light, but how bright is our Light? John the Baptist did have Light, but he recognized that his own flesh was in the way of God and His Son. While our old man lives at all he is in the way of the work that God would do in us... if allowed to come in and...

"The 'Implied' meaning should be obvious!" (A Dangerous Statement)

Your question to anyone here points out that some, or even all, of us may still have that old man nature that wants to keep his physical comforts and advantages... no matter what God says. Does not God really want us to enjoy all the 'good' things available? Is it not possible we don't always...

Is the nation of Israel really of the devil, fooling Christians?

Hopefully our sins will diminish in number as He is increased in us. This would be the right kind of growth. He does understand our frailty, but He wants us to grow closer to Him and certainly has provided the means by the sacrifice of Jesus and the outpouring of the Holy Ghost. Amen!

Is the nation of Israel really of the devil, fooling Christians?

I agree that every person willingly baptized does repent, but would it be a repentance, that is a turning around, from things not understood? I think not. I believe that is the process of growth toward God a person will necessarily repent again along the way as he realizes there things within...

Is the nation of Israel really of the devil, fooling Christians?

When people repent and then commit by following through as God directs, how well do they already know their own heart? When we are very young we may believe we know about everything. I recall at the age of 12 thinking I was already smarter/wiser than my parents and all of the adults around me...

Is the nation of Israel really of the devil, fooling Christians?

The foundation is cited here: "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ." I Cor 3:11 My point and/or question was that as a person goes down in the water of baptism, what do the words recited over him matter if he really has not repented? "Then Peter said...

Is the nation of Israel really of the devil, fooling Christians?

Unfortunately there is truth in the words of Mahatma Ghandi, a non-Christian: “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.” But take people one at the time and if there is hanging that needs to be done, let them hang themselves.

Is the nation of Israel really of the devil, fooling Christians?

I am not arguing these points with you. I was baptized in water in Jesus name in 1976 at a UPC in California. Rather I was asking about other things in scriptures which should be connected. Are you able to answer and make the connections?

Is the nation of Israel really of the devil, fooling Christians?

What do they mean in the OT when they say things like what David said here? "Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied." I...

Is the nation of Israel really of the devil, fooling Christians?

I simply asked some questions. I did not mention salvation at all although it may be involved. Jesus said if 2 or 3 gather together "in His name" He would be in their midst. He did not say this could only happen after the day of Pentecost. Why do you conclude that it had to be? Can you make what...
