Thank you! Even so! "This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24 For me it is every day. I cannot let a day pass without private time with the Lord and even when it is not so private as in the remainder of the day, it needs to be with Him still...

If the Word is not alive in us, to us it is dead. Call the Bible Alive if you wish, but the result for you or me is the same without the Holy Spirit. Without the direction of the Holy Spirit are we not blind? If we are following a blind man, will we not fall into the same ditch with Him? "O...

Was the body of Jesus not dead? On this we stand apart, but God is still giving increases to people. "Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee." Psalm 139:12

Perfectly preserved is the Word of God and the men who wrote it down were inspired as they did so. But it is God's perfect message to you or me that is preserved. How well can any man read it with understanding? The understanding of it is as was the writing according to the inspiration of the...

Ah but I have just a couple of days ago been impressed to take myself on a heavy trip through the Book of Revelation and related books in the Bible. I had hoped to start today, but being my birthday [76], my daughter and her family overwhelmed me by taking my wife and I out to dinner. I enjoyed...

You like many people call the Bible the Word of God. Yes, the Word of God is NOT dead, but the Bible as I see it is like Jesus on the cross after he died, but before he resurrected. No unopened unread Bible are alive. They in that state save no one. But... then when a person opens the Book and...

Very simply, what I eat, instead of a little wafer made from grain is the scriptures themselves. What I drink is not the red blood of Jesus' body of flesh nor is it the wine made from grapes, but rather the Holy Spirit.

Big John & Sparky was a program for little kids, which for a long time after most other kids had moved on, I was a little kid still interested in little kid things. I suspect it was some kind of a local program rather than a national of widely broadcast. I forget the details, but Sparky was...

You are speaking I think more of the apparently grammatical and even translation differences which people here sometimes argue a lot about. I speak of something else. The problem, when I have one is not with the King James per se. It is with what I understand or do not understand. Sometimes God...

It is a phrase I started using a number of years ago with my own meaning from my heart, which may or may not equal some particular verse in the written scriptures. Did it come from God? Sometimes it does. [tense changed on purpose.] I give God the glory because ultimately He is the One that is...

Thanks! While I do sometimes look at the original words, it is not that often. What I am familiar with in the Bible versions I read regular could easily go over my head in the original as in this case. Usually when I have identified a problem or doubt or some such thing in the KJV that I mostly...

In need of a translation? Lucille Ball's first popular TV show in the early 1950's was I Love Lucy. Her real husband, Rickey, was also her husband, Rickey, on the show. Their real child both on and off of TV was called Little Rickey to distinguish between him and his father. Ozzie & Harriet...

Yes, precisely! What people call radio now is not what it was then. When I would get home from elementary school before my family had a TV I would lay down on the floor next to the big console radio to listen to some of my favorite programs, such as Inner Sanctum, The Shadow, The Lone Ranger...

I recall watching Ozzie and Harriet on prime time on our black and white TV. The signal came through the air & was caught by our TV antenna. Ricky, not little Ricky [Lucy's], was still a little boy who had not sung a song that made the Hit Parade yet. Am I speaking a foreign language here? If I...

I also am familiar with it from where I grew up in California. It reminds me of "My Fair Lady" with Audrey Hepburn as a poor cockney speaking flower seller and the phonetic expert [Rex Harrison] who was able to recognize a person's precise place of origin by his/her words and pronunciation used...

Hmmm, thanks for this. My only experience playing online games with other people was not good. It was a couple of years ago and it was some variation of Scrabble. The other player in every game I initiated would show up sometime 2-3 days after I had played. I did not enjoy that wait. By the time...

Praying for you @Mayflower and little Lorena!

You were responding to @Nancy here but as I read through it trying to understand this part caught my attention. . Does what I write agree precisely with your own position/beliefs/doctrine about God and the things of God? What is? Jesus? Is that not what we all really want? But.. who knows him...

Yes, in our 'hands'!

The closest I came to Mah Jong as a kid was a 'pick up sticks' game. More recently I encountered a computer game of Mah Jong which I have played but not recently. No real tiles in it. I remember another game learned from my parents: Dominos They used to play dominos up the street at the home...
