How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Once again, are you saying a person can be saved, be born of the spirit. But have no works. Period? Can you really have faith in someone yet NEVER do anything they ask?
  2. Eternally Grateful

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

So you think a person can be saved, yet never produce one work of righteousness after they have been born again?

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

so jesus was wrong when he said he went home justified. no. Because then your depending on self. And looking at self. And not God. Thats not faith at all Grace is unmerited favor. We are saved by grace through faith. If you will not believe in salvation. Then how can you believe in faith He...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

did you ever become like the tax collector. and in true saving faith repent and confess that you were hopeless without him. And that you wanted his death to account for you..Not just words. But true faith. We are saved by faith. If you don;t have faith, Your not saved. its no twist at all...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

who are the all here? Context is everything Its both Faith in his death as our redeemer Faith in his life as our sustainer James speaks of people who CLAIM to have faith. He never said they had faith.. He said their CLAIMED faith was lifeless or dead. that's why it did not save and why...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

there is no such things as a dead faith. It is lifeless.. Or mere belief so do you have to carry your cross up that hill to be saved? Carrying your cross is a state of seeking after the things of the spirit. of sacrificing your needs for everyone elses needs. doing this, we will not fulfill...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

He will not save a person who does not want it. And unless a person has true saving faith. They do not really want it. Because until then it is gods way plus my way. Not Gods way

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

No Those save are born again into gods family. It’s not a higher calling it’s being born again into God family The higher calling is for Gods children to respond to God as God sanctifies them in growing them from babes is Christ to spirtually mature adults

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Paul said we are saved by grace through faith Some people took that to mean I can believe in jesus and I am saved. Thats not true. Because that person never had true saving faith.. They may say they are a sinner saved by grace. but it does not make it a fact. again, because someone CAN take...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

I agree, But false humility does not make the one who has true humility in error or unsaved. Just because someone says they believe in Jesus does not make them a child of God. Thats why jesus said one must be poor in spirit to enter the kingdom. The word poor there in the gree is not poor...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

A sinner who is saved by grace admits that he is not perfect. Admits that he has failed to meet Gods standard. Admits that apart from Gods grace he would be lost with no hope Its called becoming poor in spirit A person who is humble and is grateful for being saved inspite of his wn sin. Is the...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

God saved us while we were yet sinners. No one loves God or even has the capacity to love God until they are saved. They can claim they love God. But they have n capacity to love God. We love BECAUSE he first loved us everyone is born of the flesh Only those born of the spirit are saved. If...

  14. Eternally Grateful

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

yes they were. Its why they always complained. They never believed God period. People don’t walk in faith because they have not recieved the gift of God and been made a child and given the spirit. Thats why they have no works. Why they complain continually (like the children of Isreal did)...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Well thank you for your opinion. But your wrong Now either you can prove me wrong in what I said. And help in the conversation. Or you can prove you have nothing to offer the situation and continue in your arrogance.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

this issue is not what we do. it is who we are Are we born into Gods family. where he is our abba father or are we not born into his family. and in a dead state.. where we are not forgiven. As I stated earlier to Epi. there is a saved state (child) or non saved state (non child) there is no...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

I think one must remember context also When A child gets angry, The father will react different than when a none child gets angry. A child is forgiven, but will be chastened. A non child just stores up more wrath that if not forgiven by becoming a child. will be stored up for eternity
  18. Eternally Grateful

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

A true faith? A faith where people do not walk in the spirit? Where their faith is in self. and how many good deeds they do? Come on man. stop puffing yourself up as having real faith. when you have no faith in God at all
