    Who’s interpretation is true?

bb Where did Christianity come from? Do you think the first couple of generations after Jesus were, maybe, the first Christians? What does Catholic or Protestant have to do with it? The Didache was written by the first generation of Christians, between 90 AD and 120 AD. About, probably closer...

    Was James confused?

Take it easy bb. We're discussing Catholicism here. They see sin differently. As far as Original Sin.. Call it what you will, it still happened. original=the first.

    Great point!

    Calling all Law Keepers.

Hi Butterfly, Welcome to the forum and please jump in! Your post is very good, very well said. I highlighted three sentences above. This is a really good way of saying that we must believe and we must follow Jesus and do what He told us to do. Our works do not save us,,,but they are a sign of...

    Calling all Law Keepers.

Hi, Your explanation of what is finished sounds a little jumbled. I really, at the end of it, don't know what you mean. When Jesus said "It Is Finished" He meant that HIS work, that He was sent to do here on earth, was finished. There was nothing left for God to do for us --- It was...

    Calling all Law Keepers.

I read John 4:24 in 3 different bibles. First of all we have to worship God in spirit because it's our spirit that worships His spirit. I think I've said before that spirit draws spirit. We must also worship Him in truth. In verse 23 Jesus is saying that God will no longer be worshipped in...

    Did God Create Evil?

Easily said. So where did satan come from?
  9. GodsGrace

    Did God Create Evil?

There's no answer in Job 42 or anywhere else... (at least, I don't find it there)

    Did God Create Evil?

How does God define evil?? Here's how I understand evil. There's a real good force, it's called God. There's a real evil force, it's called satan. All bad things are caused by the evil force, or by satan. Everything is infested with evil, us, others, nature. It exists throughout the entire...

    Did God Create Evil?

I thought of this post all evening. Neutral is the bad. Interesting. The bad is when God does NOT intervene. There was darkness first, God made the light. Let there be light. Still thinking on it. Fasting --- Can't do for different reasons. Wish I could. But wouldn't that make the "bad" the...

    Who’s interpretation is true?

So how come there are different ways of understanding scripture if there is only ONE authority? Could it be that we listen to HUMANS instead of God?? Our favorite pastor, our favorite YOUTUBE minister (for goodness sake). How about reading scripture with GOD in mind. Using a little common...

    Who’s interpretation is true?

Could you answer with more than one sentence? I'm getting thick in my old age and don't understand what you mean. I THINK you said that the situation changes and makes you believe different doctrine at different times. This might be wrong and I might have misunderstood. So I asked you if this...

    Who’s interpretation is true?

Sure. What about IF. That word is always unseen to some.

    Who’s interpretation is true?

No problem with the misunderstanding. Yes. Only that which is of heaven is going to heaven. That's what Jesus meant in John 3. We must be born from above, if we want to go above. Those who do not know God, cannot go to be with a being they don't know. Spirit draws spirit.

    Who’s interpretation is true?

So you're saying that John the Apostle didn't know the truth and he didn't pass it on? Why wouldn't he? Would he pass on lies?
  17. GodsGrace

    Who’s interpretation is true?

I agree. So does the mother tell each one of us something different? Is it our choice to be saved or does God pick who will be saved?
  18. GodsGrace

    Who’s interpretation is true?

Yes. This is all well and good and I agree. But there are many interpretations. So then what do you do? I like to check out what the early Christians believed, when all was still simple. For instance, did you ever read the didache? An instruction manual for Christians. It would clear up a lot...

    What about Hell ?

No. I'm truly not interested in this. The reason I had done the study, if it could be called that, is because a local priest apologized at Mass, because the church has made a mistake about representing hell the way it has.

    What about Hell ?

I had done a little study on this about two years ago. I have notes on what each word translated as hell really is from the original Greek. As far as Greek mythology...do you think Jesus didn't speak of hell?
