    Church

And your ignorance rears it's head once again. The "7 churches" of Rev. 1-2 are locations - not different Churches. Today, we call them "parishes". It's ONE Church in 7 different places. And your claim to say that it is "wrong" to say that there is only ONE Church is based on your ignorance...

First bishop at Rome, male or female

And, according to Strong's Exhaustive Greek Concordance - YOU are wrong. Paul is using a word that is speaking of women in general. He later addresses the married ones - but his earlier use of the word is a sweeping generalization. Again - YOUR problem is that you are trying to inject your...

First bishop at Rome, male or female

According to Strong's Exhaustive Greek Concordance, this word shows up 224 times in the NT. 84 of those instances refer to "Wives". 130 times, it simply refers to "Women/Women". Again, according to Strong's Exhaustive Greek Concordance in 1 Tim. 2:9-14, it refers to WOMEN - not "Wives". You...
  5. BreadOfLife

First bishop at Rome, male or female

Wrong again. You keep piecing verses together by jumping from chapter to chapter to make them say what YOU want them to say. The plain fact of the matter is that you simply don't understand the idioms and nuances of the Greek language. As I have shown you, γυνή gune (ǰ ï-nee') doe NOT always...
  6. BreadOfLife

First bishop at Rome, male or female

WRONG. Nowhere does it even imply that the woman must be married. γυνή gune (ǰ ï-nee') n DOESN'T mean "married". It simply means "Woman." The fact that she WILL have children doesn't mean that she can't be presently single. You are adding your own meaning to the text. This is what is known...
  7. BreadOfLife

First bishop at Rome, male or female

The YOU still have to explain why Paul says that women cannot be teachers or have authority over men. He is NOT only talking about wives here because the word used means: 1) a woman of any age, whether a virgin, or married, or a widow
  8. BreadOfLife

First bishop at Rome, male or female

Apparently you don't know ANYTHING about different languages because you can't seem to grasp the fact that there can be several words for the same object. Just as "Adelphos" means "brother", it can ALSO mean step-brother, half-brother, cousin, uncle, neighbor, fellow believer, fellow...

First bishop at Rome, male or female

And I suggest YOU start conversing like an adult . . .
  10. BreadOfLife

First bishop at Rome, male or female

WHAT are you talking about?? Your entire argument is that women can be Bishops, according to Scripture. Now you're comparing the word for "Woman" in 2 verses from 2 completely different chapters with a completely different context. This is like arguing with a child who doesn't understand. How...
  11. BreadOfLife

First bishop at Rome, male or female

HUH?? What "error"?? Paul never says that a Bishop MUST be married. That's precisely what I said. You don't read very well - do you? The word used in these verses is defined as: 1) a woman of any age, whether a virgin, or married, or a widow What part of this general word for "Woman" are...
  12. BreadOfLife

First bishop at Rome, male or female

And you have completely ignored the 17 verses I gave you that use the same word. Why IS that??
  13. BreadOfLife

First bishop at Rome, male or female

Huh?? What are you smoking?? I told YOU that because of the polygamous culture of the 1st century, Paul was saying that polygamists couldn't be Bishops. He wasn't saying that a single man couldn't be a Bishop. Your entire notion that a bishop MUST be married is based on your ignorance of...
  14. BreadOfLife

First bishop at Rome, male or female

NOT according to Strong's Greek Lexicon: 1) a woman of any age, whether a virgin, or married, or a widow 2) a wife 2a) of a betrothed woman A "wife" or "betrothed" woman are secondary definitions. The following NT verses use the SAME word for “Woman” - regardless of whether it is talking...
  15. BreadOfLife

First bishop at Rome, male or female

This is a silly argument when one reads the Scriptures with a knowledge of 1st century cultures. Paul isn't saying that a Bishop must be married. In the first century, polygamy was prevalent. Paul was simply saying that a Bishop could not be from a home where this was practiced. He must come...
  16. BreadOfLife

First bishop at Rome, male or female

You're really fishing here - but the Bible squashes your arguments. As I listed before - 1 Tim. 2:12 says emphatically: I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. Paul isn't just speaking about the local Church where Timothy was.
  17. BreadOfLife

First bishop at Rome, male or female

2 Tim 3:2-11 completely destroys your entire argument because it states that a Bishop must be a man. Paul also states in 1 Tim 2:12, that women should not teach or exercise authority over men. Case CLOSED.

    Church

Yes, you could SAY the same thing to me - but I'm already here in Christ's Church. Look - Jesus established only ONE Church. He never sanctioned the perpetually-splintering mess that is the fruit of Protestantism - with it's tens of thousands of disjointed, bickering denominations ALL teaching...

Actually - the jury is out - and there is still time for you to come home to Christ's Church instead of living in rebellion against Him.
