I never said that the Bible was Jesus or vice versa. The Bible is the written Word of God - but not the entire Word of God. However, Jesus IS the Word of God as the written Word clearly states (John 1:1).

    Bride Of Christ.

No need to get angry. Your online cult over at "aggressivechristianity.net" should be able to defend itself . . .

    Another non-answer. I'm not surprised. Now - let's hear your position on that verse . . .

What does Our Savior consider Idolatry

Sooooo, YOU think that when a Catholic has had enough of the ignorant anti-Catholic garbage around here - we should just stay quiet? And, if we don't - WE are the ones on the "attack" against lying, anti-Catholic Protestants? That's a pretty perverted way of looking at it. The plain fact is...

Absolutely: John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory, the glory as of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth.

The answer lies in the fact that Jesus gave complete Authority to ONE Church - not tens of thousands of perpetually-splintering groups that teach different doctrines yet all claim to have the "truth." This is man made confusion and He is not the God of confusion. And MEthinks you are trying to...

No - we're not commanded to venerate anybody. The only one we are "commanded" to venerate or worship is God - by God Himself. We venerate Mary because she is the Mother of Christ and our spiritual Mother. The Jews venerated the Ark of the Covenant. Catholics venerate the Ark of the New...

I agree that the Bible does NOT encompass the entire Word of God - although most Protestants do. However, in saying that Jesus is not the Word, as bbyrd claims, is a vague and misleading statement if he means something else. Of course Jesus isn't paper and ink - but that's not what bbyrd has...

Because it's a matter of Authority. Jesus gave Authority to His Church - that the Holy Spirit would lead it to ALL truth. He promised that whatever it ordained on earth would also be ordained in Heaven. The question of the Canon of Scripture is extremely important because although God is the...

Yup - just go to "aggressivechristianity.net". You see some real Scriptural perversion there . . .

Faith alone for salvation - is heaven full of swearing sailors and dirty jokes?

Then you have to ask yourself - if this, one of the main pillars of Protestantism is wrong - why on earth would you follow Protestantism??

What does Our Savior consider Idolatry

Ahhhhh, taking Scripture completely out of context. The blind leading the blind . . . "Who is the bigger fool - the fool or the fool who follows him?" - Obi Wan Kenobi

What does Our Savior consider Idolatry

No - it looks like Kepha31 did his homework and schooled you pretty good. Don't be content to spew the same, tired old anti-Catholic rubbish. Do your homework and study your history - instead of those moronic Jack Chick tracts . . .

What does Our Savior consider Idolatry

Sooooo, treating something with reverence is idolatry?? What would you say to all of those people at funerals who treat the corpse and casket with reverence?? What would you say to all of those people who proudly display pictures of their children and aunt Winnie on their mantle?? What would...

Faith alone for salvation - is heaven full of swearing sailors and dirty jokes?

You ARE asking the right question because the man made doctrine of Sola Fide is false. This was NEVER a Christian teaching in the 1500 years prior to the Protestant Revolt. The problem with Sola Fide - as you can see here by the many different responses is that some define it as "just...

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

    Thanks for yet another impotent non-answer . . .
  18. BreadOfLife

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

First of all - this is the history of the CURRENT edition of the Catechism. Secondly - the Catechism is a primary source for Catholic doctrine. NOT everything that is in the Catechism is explicitly stated in Scripture. Some of it is implicitly taught from Scripture and some of it comes from...

    Church

If YOU see Christ's Church as simply "any other organized Christian church" then you don't know Christ. HE built His Church and HE is the one who "organized" it. The Church is the Body of Christ of which HE is the Head (Col. 1:18). It is the fullness of Christ (Eph. 22-23) and the pillar and...

    Mystery Babylon At It Again!

And you have to LUV those people who are so gullible as to believe everything they read on the internet. Good grief - this is rubbish to anybody with half a brain. A secular writer posts things about what the Pope supposedly said - and YOU take him at his word. But, if the Pope refuted what he...
