Try reading the Reina Valera version of the Bible without all of three persons in singular and plural. In the spoken language you can accomplish a lot with less formal little grammar but to catch the nuances of meaning in a written sentence we need as much help as possible to communicate...

Also praying!

@Blueberry Welcome to the forum!

Ha! So it is. When I was a student in West Berlin where the primary spoken language was of course German I took a Spanish class where the instructor was from Mexico. Only the instructor and myself spoke with Mexican accents. The rest of the class learned the Castilian way as most of their...

The bible is a book on the shelf which unopened says nothing: no lies and no truth. When it is opened by a person led by God then the person will only speak the truth. When he is led only by lying spirits, he will only lie. When he is led by a mixture, then that is what he will speak. When we...

What proof? The scriptures I have studied and continue to study. If I were to change my mind, it would be God that showed me something I haven't seen. He has done that before, but on this subject, a change would surprise me as I have already been in several other places. However, the face to...

To revive simply means to bring back to life. This is the purpose of artificial respiration, isn't it... to revive a person who has lost something essential to his body of flesh, such as the oxygen needed to survive? Before Jesus brought Life no man had had Life since before Adam and Eve ate of...

According to your definitions of God and/or eternal you might be correct, but what is God saying to us in the scriptures? To make the scriptures fit their own misunderstandings or lack of understanding men it seems have decided that a trinity is necessary. The error may have started elsewhere...

That verse does not say that Jesus is eternally God. Neither does it explain what a heretic is. As for me I am a believer in God and in His Son. For me a heretic is one who knows the truth but proceeds to purposely to deny it. Can a person who is ignorant of the truth be a heretic in the eyes...

@Prayer Warrior Spanish was my major in college with a German minor. I took three semesters of Latin but have never used it since. I used Latin for the singing mentioned and of course as an altar boy. I translated both Spanish and German documents when I was working for Social Security. I used...

I have no baby pictures of me. My mother had some but who knows what happened to them. This is my first grade school photo in 1950. I am on top row 4th from the left.

Lots of good memories, Frank. Thanks for sharing them here.

@Prayer Warrior I had to do make some corrections to get my last post appear as it should.

@Prayer Warrior Give God the glory for the gift of your voice. You must be quite good. I used to be able to carry a tune, but was never more than average. Nevertheless, your story brought back another old memory. As a young Catholic in San Juan Bautista CA a supposedly well known music...

I am a fan of Mozart but that is NOT where I got the name, Amadeus. When I was a Catholic I was told I needed to have a new name for my Confirmation. The nuns had a book of names with the meanings included. I chose, Amadeus which is Latin for "Love God". When I started participating in Christian...

Well then are not moving toward being one with God and His Son? Is not Jesus the Word made flesh as per John 1:14? How is it we are to become like Him? Is it not by moving from death to Life? Will memorizing the Bible do it? Perhaps what is needed to eat his flesh and drink his blood? "Then...

Only heretics! That is your belief or opinion or presumption, but what does God say about it? Who would not be hard pressed to find one verse of scripture that expresses that with no other possible understandings? The only Way we can get there [to a place of better understanding] is to follow...

This was certainly true of me. I was a faithful Catholic with what I had, but there were huge gaps in my knowledge of what I as a Catholic was supposed to know and to believe, which in itself is laughable. I seriously considered the priesthood as a teenager because I ignorantly thought that in...

I do believe that the scripture is the dead flesh of Jesus. When it is quickened by the Holy Spirit then it is the Word of God. I don't know if any church group teaches this. I know some individuals who believe it, but not any specific groups [churches]. God does speak to me as one of His sheep...

"Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ." I Cor 11:1 And no, no apology is needed. Thank you for the consideration.
