Precisely one of my own reasons for staying where I am on this question. Reading the Spanish and the German Bible regularly I am able to readily see the differences you mention in singular versus plural and other grammatical distinctions not commonly or easily made in written modern English. The...

We must simply keep on digging instead of presuming that have already gone as deep as we can or that we have climbed as high as we can. Takes me back again to Corrie Ten Boom [The Hiding Place] with the "refuge" in Him.

Only then and only there? How about also now and in our own little world of the flesh? Even so...! That should be us... at least until we actually inherit: "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified...

Well yes and no! We want to always regularly start again at the lowest room so that God can reassure on what we have correctly and change us where He sees the need. A person who is unable or unwilling to do that will have lost his love for truth and taken hold of a love for his already set in...

This is the same kind of generalizing that many people do against people of great or even slight differences in belief. I know I've been guilty on this myself, but God is still working on me. We are certainly to do all that we can, but our very best without the Holy Spirit is what? "For my...

We can be bored in the flesh or absorbed in the flesh... or we can simply yield always to the Holy Spirit of God. Probably most people most of the time are immersed in the first two. How many called Christian are always yielded to God? How much mercy will God have for them? Is there not a...

I agree that the words in the Bible were written by men inspired [led by the Holy Spirit] to do so. But what it took it put the message from God down on paper is also required for another person to receive that message. When a person receives the interpretation of what he reads or hears from the...

Obviously you don't know the Gospel of Christ or true conversion yourself. Does that mean you don't understand the God's message to men? I am praying for you.

Do you really believe that simply an open mind is enough? Do you see no difference between and open mind and an open heart? Not just a deeper understanding, but any understanding that is ultimately meaningful to God. And what is the difference between the quickening of the Holy Spirit and the...

Give God the glory! Let us follow the example of the three Hebrews who walked with One like the Son of God rather than the example of the soldiers who cast them into the furnace and suffered the loss of all. Is God hell to those who deny Him?

You did not answer my questions. I believe rather that the Bible as written is simply the body of Jesus hanging dead on the cross before he resurrected. People without being led by the Holy Spirit read the Bible and get nothing or wrong answers because what they have consumed is NOT quickened in...

And yet you would have us believe that you, who are not a Mormon, are a Christian/follower of Jesus because you say so. Why should your testimony be accepted and the testimony of @Jane_Doe22 be rejected? Is truth determined by a majority vote? You don't even want to really listen to her part...

And each of us shares our version, whether it is the Word or God or not, right? Some one without the quickening of the Holy Spirit would have no Word to share, right? Can a person have the Word of God without having ever read a Bible? Consider those disciples in the early Church who were...

Thanks for the information!

Really sorry you see things that way. There's another fellow [ @bbyrd009 ]on here who regularly has tried to help people stop trying to define something they cannot define in detail: absolute truth. It really is Jesus, but who already sees his face better than as through a glass darkly. With...

I would say that we need to have, or to be: gold, silver and/or precious stones which are purified rather than destroyed by the Fire. People want to call the fire, hell, but what if the fire is simply God. Who will remain untouched by the fire like the burning bush and who will be killed by the...

This may sometimes apply, but sometimes God will direct us to go and to do what in our own heart we might have avoided. Remember what Hosea was told to do in the second verse of chapter 1, and then read the words of the Apostle Paul: "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for...

"If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which...

The tares could simply be those ropes that bind us as they did the three Hebrews as they were thrown into the fiery furnace of Nebuchadnezzar. At the end on our road if we have nothing but wood, hay and stubble, what will there be left after the fire has done its thing? Where are the gold...

I thought that this was the point you were trying to make, but most of the time most Bible readers will not get into that [partakers still of milk or tares or deluded or?]... unless God has shown them something that would lead them that way. One way He might do that is through a person like...
