Sounds good. Re the early church theologians not being inspired... Neither were those who taught you and me, or those who write books, or those who make up new doctrine which did not exist in the church till 1,500 AD.

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

Ok. I'm not Catholic anymore. I've taught in the CC. Catechism, 8 to 12 years old. Book of Mathew to adults. The CCC. I'm still involved.

Maybe I know because I am involved?

We don't have to discuss this. We won't be changing each other's belief. I do like this topic because it helps new Christians. I'll only say this. In your belief, God chooses who will be save and will go to heaven. And He also chooses who will go to hell. Think about it. Is this a loving God...

Once Saved Always Saved (Eternal Security)

If I reply, I'll only be repeating. So we'll agree to disagree on some topics. As far as the early church theologians I'll only say this. YES. I do trust them. Who would YOU rather trust? A man who knew John the Apostle and is relating a belief of his that he learned from JOHN, or a writer...

Once Saved Always Saved (Eternal Security)

I'm sorry, I don't understand your point. Are you saying that God chooses whom He will save? Are you saying that in John 15:16 Jesus is specifically speaking to His Disciples, who were the Apostles (after His death). Please make your point.

    My God

Huh? The bible can bring to salvation. No book written ABOUT the bible can do this. It is a beautiful and mysterious book. As far as life, only Jesus can give Life. HIS story is in the New Testament, and also in the O.T. in many places since it speaks of Him. How could you say it is not...

It is not in the bible.....sola scripture

I don't believe some posters lie about the CC in order to justify their leaving it. If they had to justify it, they never would have left because it would mean they're sorry. I also don't like calling persons a liar because they are expousing a different POV or what they believe to be...

I didn't get an alert for this. Came upon it by chance...Wonder how much else I've missed... You've capitalized Church. So I agree with all you've said.

Mathew 28:19 Do you think Jesus meant that YOU should go to all the world and preach and baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit? I believe the ENTIRE bible is for everyone. There are only a few exceptions. You've picked one of them. Jesus needed Paul for a very specific...

    My God

It's YOUR point Stranger! Not mine -- I was just trying to support your idea. Each writer had their own reason for writing. Each one saw things a little differently. They did not huddle in a room and conspire to write. Each one wrote what HE felt to be important.

Once Saved Always Saved (Eternal Security)

Of course. The condition was that if you're born again you have the security of salvation. You're right that only God has free will. You explain free will in a philosophical way -- I'm speaking of free will in a faith way. Did God not give us free will? Do we not choose if our action of for...

Once Saved Always Saved (Eternal Security)

As Christians we're not supposed to go by how we FEEL But by what we KNOW. You could feel dead at times, that doesn't mean that you are. If you're abiding in Christ, you have the light of life, the life that comes from belonging to the vine.

    Salvation loss. Is it possible?

    Very intelligent answer.
  17. GodsGrace

    Salvation loss. Is it possible?

True. Jesus stands at the door and knocks. He doesn't force His way in. God gave us free will.

    Salvation loss. Is it possible?

Je ne sais pas what you're talking about!! How does your second paragraph explain what I posted? Referring to 2 Peter 2:20-21 Your second paragraph only happens if the person is willing to be washed...

    Salvation loss. Is it possible?

Mathew 7:22 is a very interesting verse. The persons that Jesus is stalking about did some visual things to act as believers, or maybe they were believers, BUT, what did jesus say at the end... Mathew 7:23 "And then I will declare to them, ' I never knew you, depart from Me, you who PRACTICE...

    Salvation loss. Is it possible?

    >I wouldn't say we condemn other people. I'd say that we feel that we will never be able to leave God, but we cannot speak for anyone else.
