And also: And are not the hawks a bird of prey as is the eagle? They are meat eaters, the meat being the flesh of Jesus, which is found in the pages of the Bible certainly for is He not the Word of God? But the Bible is a dead carcass until it is quickened in a person by the Holy Spirit: "For...

And at least two types of oracles within each of those 2 definitions: Those who are of God and those who are of mammon.

This speaks to the OSAS question that people bring up so often. Perhaps what happens to a person who has really had Life and then backslides badly is that as he moves away from his love of the truth because he fails to eat and drink regularly the flesh [dead carcass or Word] and blood of Jesus...

One question that comes to my mind, is, whether the person is the gift or simply has the gift? If for example we say Paul is an apostle of Christ, is it that he is a different person as a result of Christ or effectively the same person with the responsibility of the gift? In this case we might...

I do agree on this point although I look at it perhaps differently than some do. I do not worship the Bible. For me it remains by itself a dead book. Yes! I am not against theologians. They are just well studied men, but by study alone we will never get all of God's message to man. By reading...

Yes, I did. Give God the glory for all that He has done for you and yours.

@Pisteuo Welcome to the forum, Joe. My history goes back a bit further than yours. My wife and I also home schooled our two children, a boy and a girl. He is 44 and she is 43. We have six grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Yet these things you describe as essentials are not so described in scripture. While a person may find some support for his belief in the trinity in scripture he cannot find in scripture that one who does not believe in it is not a Christian. Then again where in the scripture is a clear...

The verses I cited in post #1581 were really addressing your question. How could Hosea be right to marry a prostitute when Paul's writing says not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. Both writers are accepted as men of God. Both of them were right, are they not? If not, why not?

I did answer every question you put to me. I cannot help that you did not understand my answers. For me a theory is something based on scientific evidence, but insufficient to call it a fact. That was what I learned in science courses more than 40 years ago. While I understand that people may...

They are written in scripture, but, as you already know, what is written is often misused. Jesus never misused it, but people who have decided they have the answers search only for support for what they already believe that they know rather for what God would say the answer is. Googling for an...

Also while it was always in a sense big business it over time really has apparently changed even the definition of the word sport. I do watch the news and in waiting for the weather reports I hear a lot about "sports", but does any one ever speak of " good sportsmanship" or being a "good sport"...

Some things are missing in your possible options. There is only One God and He is Good and He is Love. But, the definitions for Good and for Love are God's, not ours nor any man's. Even when reading the Bible man without the direction of the Holy Spirit will automatically apply his own...

If you are addressing me, I've been retired from man's work since the year 2000. At 74 I have even had to stop most yard work, but when it comes to God I do not sit and watch the world go by. Outside the computer I preach and teach and witness as God opens the doors. How successful? That's not...

I missed out on Jackie Robinson, but I do remember Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Ernie Banks, Stan Musial, Ted Williams and many more. It broke my heart when baseball somehow fell from being the top sport in this country. Now for my part I understand why it is not. But... that is another testimony.

Sarcasm? It was not intentional but you are right that it does contain some of that. My point was simply that unfortunately too many people who are believers in some measure seem to be more concerned with making their point or in winning an argument than in glorifying God. I have been guilty...

So long as you call my beliefs a theory, I have no answers for you. You want to belittle what others believe because it does not fit your understanding then so be it. When you change your tune, then I will consider your "novel idea". Would it be OK for me to call what Catholics believe a theory?

I hesitate to post here because I am often not much good on casual discussion because I don't pay attention to many of the common day to day activities of people and pay no attention at all to others. For example if you ask me about sports, I have never like football, neither the European type...

@Marymog Read the verses posted below and then tell me what is wrong with your understanding: "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?" II Cor 6:14 "The beginning of the...

Some of those vets have likely found a comfortable easy chair to sit back in to "watch the world go by". More into delusion as a result methinks.
