But what if we, the Gentiles, the people supposedly of the New Covenant rather than the carnal children of Jacob[Israel] have as the desires of our heart that which God desires that we desire? "Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." Psalm 37:4 "Ye...

Twinc, if you would not make it so complicated, we could both walk down the highway of holiness. We both do want to approach God more closely, do we not?

Commonly known as the Golden Rule!

I met one of those snake handlers, an old man, here in Oklahoma about 25 years ago. A friend and myself had a long conversation with him. He agreed that his group misunderstood some things in the scriptures. But his last word on it was that he had been with snake handlers all of his long life...

@Miss Hepburn I learned something through you that I only vaguely was understanding although the clarification came through bbyrd009 in the above cited post: "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise." Psalm 51:17

"So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at [him] her." John 8:7

@Angelina Also joining in prayer for your mom!

@Frank Lee Just keep on giving God the glory! Too many people would rather be right in their own eyes than pleasing to God. The label they bear seems to makes no difference to them.

What is offensive and who is offended? "Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!" Matt 18:7 "And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me." Matt 11:6 "Peter answered and said unto him, Though...

Of course the point of the OP was not that the celebration Christmas is, or is not, a good thing, nor was it to present an argument as to when or if any such celebration should be held. It was rather as some have already observed to emphasize the growth of an anti-Christ spirit all about us...

The problem for pastors/ministers who are aware and hope by compromising a little to win a few is that it is not the pastor who wins souls by his own efforts alone but God who uses the efforts of the minister to accomplish His purpose. If we have watered down God's message purposes for the even...
