    THE GOSPEL

Thanks. So we are in agreement then that they understood the death and resurrection of Jesus. There is nothing preventing them from preaching it, and they did.

    THE GOSPEL

Jesus preached the gospel of God (Mark 1:14) which is the gospel of the kingdom of God (Mark 1:15). Paul also preached the gospel of God (Romans 1:1). I see it as the same gospel, and Paul himself tells us in Galatians that there is only one gospel. This is what I would teach a newbie.

    THE GOSPEL

Paul preached the gospel (good news) of the grace of God (Acts 20:24) which is preaching the kingdom (Acts 20:25). Jesus preached the gospel (good news) of the grace of God when he preached the gospel of the kingdom. I see no difference between “preaching the kingdom” and “preaching the gospel...

    THE GOSPEL

Jesus connected salvation with the reception of the seed / word / word of the kingdom that he spoke, in the parable of the sower.

    THE GOSPEL

Jesus’ words - his teaching and preaching, his good news / gospel - are spirit and life. They are the new covenant, which was ratified by his blood.

    THE GOSPEL

Jesus spoke about his death and resurrection, before and following those events.

    THE GOSPEL

If I understand you correctly, you’re saying that Peter and the twelve lived and died without ever understanding his death and resurrection. Please let me know if I’ve misunderstood you. My position is that Peter and all of the other apostles understood his death and resurrection - they spent...

    THE GOSPEL

I believe Acts 28:30-31 documents that he did preach it. This is exactly what Philip preached in Acts 8:12.

    THE GOSPEL

I would say to a newbie that Jesus is our apostle. He in turn raised up and sent apostles, all preaching the same gospel he preached - in an extension of his ministry to the entire world.

    THE GOSPEL

Thank you for laying your position out for me. I found it easy to understand and follow. My understanding is that Jesus and Paul (and all of the other apostles) preached the same gospel. First to the Jew, then to the gentile. The gospel preached by Jesus is my gospel, is for me. He has the...

TIME FOR THIS POPE TO GO....

His posts made under the username “asoul” now appear as posts made by ”LexMundy”. I don’t know what that’s all about. Everyone needs a break from them from time to time. Recognizing it and taking a break is a good thing. I respect you as well. Many think, and some will boldly say, that I am...

Validity of Scripture, the Apocrypha versus the King James

From my X / Twitter “For you” feed: ”In 1400, it took monks a year to copy a Bible. Only institutions and the wealthy could afford one. Most people were illiterate. For centuries, the Catholic Church protected the Word of God from heretical translations - another reason to thank God for the...
