Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

No wonder this place is so messed up. A handful of people understand the truth and the rest are fighting against it!

    The Unity Thread

When concerning the gospel (which I have specified in my comments), this is exactly what we are instructed to do! We are to stand for the truth of the gospel and "avoid" those who teach a false gospel. I do understand what this thread is about, which is exactly why I felt it necessary to bring...

In my mind, this statement was suggesting compromise. Doctrine concerning salvation cannot be bent, or compromised.

    The Unity Thread

If I am one of these two people, and they are teaching keeping the law to be justified, that person is not a believer! I will try to show the truth, but I will never compromise the truth in order to "become friends" as you said earlier. There won't be a "heated argument" because I will give them...

    The Unity Thread

Christians are not to compromise on the truth of the gospel. We are directed by scripture to "shake the dust" (Matthew 10:14)....."mark and avoid" (Romans 16:17-18). Following this direction makes us obedient to the Word of God. It has nothing to do with not having love for others.

    The Mystery

Please recognize the context of the scripture you're quoting. If you do you will see it is about discipleship (service), not salvation. Look at verse 41 and 42. Is salvation a free gift, or a reward for service done? Matthew 10:38-42 38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me...

    The Mystery

We are "freely justified" by His grace (Romans 3:24). What I said was "service" requires sacrifice, not justification. The only command we have for salvation is to trust the gospel of Christ. Isaiah 64:6 says we have no righteousness, but God demands perfection, which is only found through...

    The Unity Thread

Let me assure you that I am always open to the direction of the Holy Spirit. But, as it pertains to the gospel of salvation, He already has shown me truth, and I will never second guess what I know beyond any shadow of a doubt God has shown me. So if I seem "unaccepting" of what someone else is...

    The Unity Thread

Ha ha ha, funny :) To try to "prove a point" would be to try to prove only my opinion. My intention is never to "argue" scripture, but to show what I believe to be the truth of scripture and why. Most of the time it will be concerning the gospel of salvation. Scripture cannot contradict itself...

    The Unity Thread

There are times I fail and allow myself to react from the flesh. For those times I am truly sorry and apologize. I think perception has a lot to do with this. It's hard for some of us to communicate correctly the delivery of a comment sometimes because we are all different. I think many times we...

    The Mystery

Okay, I agree if you are speaking of sanctification, but not justification. Salvation is free, but service requires sacrifice on our part.

    The Mystery

Any replies given that don't align with the truth of scripture as it pertains to receiving "justification of life" are worthless opinions. Read the scripture! It's only based on His obedience that we have the opportunity to be justified through faith in Him. If you can read these passages and...

Once in Heaven, can you lose your salvation?

I was interested in seeing the scripture you think best supports your claim. Most all scripture is written to believers so that would be natural wouldn't it?

Once in Heaven, can you lose your salvation?

What scripture do you use to support this thinking?

Once in Heaven, can you lose your salvation?

Scripture teaches that those who have trusted Christ as Savior are "in Christ". This has a literal meaning, and when it's understood as literal truth, then you can begin to understand why salvation is eternal. It's because our spirit is made one with Him through the work of the Holy Spirit. We...

    Knowing Christ

Yes, a perfect union in spirit, not our flesh. Which is why Paul said we know "no man" after the flesh. I like the post, and that you're teaching spiritual truths which have nothing to do with our mortal flesh which is dead. I think it isn't taught enough and it is a work of God in salvation...

    The Mystery

We are justified by faith alone. If you add ....."we are to live to serve God" as an ingredient of justification, you add works. I think much of the confusion can be cleared up by understanding........ "that which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit"...

    Knowing Christ

Amen brother, preach it! There is more to be recognized in this verse though (which I'm sure you already recognize). What does Paul mean......... "know we no man after the flesh"? He is speaking of believers, because we are made one with Christ by the Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:17 But he that is...

Once in Heaven, can you lose your salvation?

Is the scripture in 1 John 3:9 referring to a human, or that which has been "born of God"? Some can't seem to recognize anything spiritual at all, but it's the only way the Word of God can be understood. This verse is speaking of the spirit of the person "in Christ" that "cannot sin" because it...

    One Gospel

Right, you won't find my words quoted in the bible, but you can find God's Words. I'm not sure what you are trying to prove by your statement, but I'll just leave these two examples from scripture for you to try to malign, and then you can take it up with God later. I speak the truth, I use...
