God is Truth, the only Reality. Truth is the only true and pure energy (power). God's will is His willpower.

What is His "likeness"? The likeness of Truth is honesty. Our innermost being comes alive (satisfied), when we awake (consciousness), with thy likeness (with honesty).

I love my mother but she openly doesn’t want to discuss God. Ever. Yet, while not leaning on Him for support, she is an unshakable rock. Tough as a Momma grizzly bear. I watched her go through the same situation I was then faced with and our reactions were completely opposite. Which threw me...in her strength is not my strength, but her strength didn’t appear to fail.

So, as I’m laying there in the doctors office completely breaking down, I am praying to Him telling Him ...He has the wrong girl if He wants to show His strength because I’m surely going to be a weak frightened rabbit and fail. Not a pillar of strength. But then, I’m seeing maybe that verse different. What is His strength made perfect in weakness? Because even though the body is trembling and weak...an empathy and consideration for others going through the same thing comes in. Suddenly one is more aware of how others must feel and how there is a need always for them to have someone there to comfort them; to sit with them when they they are weak and scared and uncertain. Does His strength made perfect in weakness mean power to never tremble? Just thinking out loud and wondering how many times I have it backwards? Do you ever tremble at just how frail and vulnerable we all are? Also realize the topic of sin will come up regarding the verse. But considering the cross and what was displayed ...His strength is more than just a cover for sin?

As far as His grace being sufficient, I see that as meaning that if we ourselves could sustain on our own, trials of all kinds, then it wouldn't be giving Him the glory but that we, ourselves push through on our own strength...He did not say that my "deliverance" is sufficient for you but His grace get's us 'through' our trials and we trust Him, no matter what. I know, easy to say that when I am not in your situation. None the less, I WILL be praying for your deliverance!

well awesome. ya, nightshade, makes you acidic. magnesium helps a lot with vitamin d absorption, but you prolly wanna avoid coffee right now too i guess. i stumbled into this really amazing congregation today, 20-30 ppl, aged 5-80, very interactive...anyway, long story short, i found out i really dont want God's help at all; i want to help God :)
how i/we got there from a contemplation of "gratefulness" im still not quite sure--and i def dunno why i am imagining this has anything to do with this thread lol--but anyway, step i was "think of something you are grateful for," tra-la right, and we got a few "im grateful for fluffy bunnies and love" type answers, and a few "im grateful my sister blahblahblah" answers, and somehow it just kinda came out that being honestly grateful is a lot harder than we like to think, or for sure say out loud, bc to be grateful implies that you were in need or even dire need in the first place; iow you have to admit that you were weak/lacking/unsuccessful, however obliquely, and the last person to read theirs out loud even laughed at themselves, realizing, right about when they got to the "fluffy..." part. Then we all laughed, and i said what i found out up there out loud, and we all found out the usual pastor's parents had dementia which was why he wasnt there, and ppl just dont admit things that might be perceived as "failures" or even lack of success up here, particularly; this is a harsh place to live.

Anyway, i didnt read mine out loud bc i was too embarrassed to say i was grateful for being afforded someone's spare room/storeroom to sleep in for a couple weeks lol, which for me is nirvana as i'm pretty used to tents now. So i got to keep my mask on, yay

I too am going through a time of testing. I agree with your statement that suffering does make us more cognizant of others' suffering. As far as God's strength being made perfect in weakness I honestly don't know. I haven't experienced it yet.
