1 Corinthians 6:18 Lexicon: Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body.

What does the above mean to you? What does “every other sin a man commits is outside the body” but “the immoral man sins against his own body.” Interesting to me is “a immoral man”, is defined as “missing the mark”

Philippians 3:9-16 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: [10] That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; [11] If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. [12] Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. [13] Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, [14] I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. [15] Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing you be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. [16] Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

Thats not a good translation, as it veils the context to the point that you can't as a Teacher even use that verse correctly, as its written.
The verse should say "flee FORNICATION".

Why?
Because when you join yourself sexually to another you have joined yourself spiritually to them, and that can be a real spiritual issue depending on what they are into....
Why is that? Because BIBLE MARRIAGE is defined as "2 become one" "flesh joining flesh".
Imagine if you are a male, and you joined yourself to a Christ Rejecting Pagan, a Witch, and you didn't know it.
So, you have entered into THEIR DARK spiritual issue by FORNICATION, that is going to harm your life.

So, that terrible bible translation....because it does not translate correctly the word FORNICATION..., loses all the context of "flesh joining flesh", and the ramifications of becoming one with someone.

two become one flesh
But it goes on to say those that are joined to the Lord are one spirit.

I was thinking about the OT, for example circumcised in the flesh being that which is outside the body…where the circumcision of Christ (made without hands) is not outside but within the heart. I get your translations dispute for “fornication” but to me this “fornication” could be where they were warned if you go back to the condemnation outside in the flesh…then Christ will be of no benefit to you. (Paraphrasing) two become one flesh? But those joined in Christ is one spirit? Im thinking can any serve two masters? Just thinking in regards to “a immoral man” misses the mark.

The reason a Son of God is a Son of God, is because they are joined to God as "one Spirit"
The born again have become ONE WITH GOD., and God is "A" Spirit.

"ONE" is a spiritual joining, or a spiritual UNION.

Its a unique situation, that fornication, or joining your body to someone creates a deep spiritual "ONENESS"....."2 become ONE FLESH".
And if you join yourself to a DEVIL.......what have you done to yourself.?
You've sinned against your own flesh this way.
Thats a terrible situation., and Paul says to FLEE Fornication.
RUN FROM IT.....GET AWAY !!!!

what is your perspective on ‘every other sin man commits outside the body’?

If you are born again, then those are "works of the Flesh".

The reason we don't define them as sin, as if an unbeliever is doing the same is because its the LAW that defines these deeds as Sin.
So, when you are "not under the law, but under Grace"......as a born again believer, then the LAW can't define you any longer as a Sinner, or your works of the flesh as Sin.

Sometimes a believer has a desire to commit a carnal deed.
Lets say you love movies, and one comes out that you want to see. And its Rated "R", and you know that its going to have some sexuality in it.
Well, if you choose to watch it, you are "using your LIBERTY for an occasion to the FLESH"....as Paul Teaches, as we are not to choose this choice.
Simple.
He does not teach that you will never do this.......He teaches that you have to choose not to do it.

hopefully you don’t think I’m debating or arguing against what you have shared. I read another post of yours last night in another thread and realized maybe we are not so far apart. That is why that passage in the OP stands out to me. When it speaks of sins committed outside the body …to me that seems to be saying if you go back to trying to keep the law of the old, you will fail …where if you fail in one you fail in all. That is why it was significant to me that “missing the mark” was connected to an immoral man. Where Paul spoke of not going back, saying this was one thing he did, moving forward and pressing on toward Christ. To me it sounds like the old man misses in Philippians 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

But then that is where it is confusing…take off that old man and press on in the New

Just thinking, but really I’m not trying to suggest anything other than an immoral man misses the ‘the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.’

"""""The body is dead because of sin, and the old man is crucified with Christ""".... and the mind is not born again.

So, as all that is true, what is there for God to judge as a "sinner"?
A.) Nothing.

And what is left of you that is not dead or crucified with Christ ????, that is not dead, or needing to be renewed ?

Only your Born again Spirit.
And THAT is the "SON" of God.......That is the redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb.
This born again spirit, is the "New creation in Christ" and is the only REAL YOU, that exists in God's perspective.
He does not notice, or value, your "body is dead because of sin", or your "old man that is crucified with Christ'.
You mind is YOURS to "renew".
However, God only sees you as the BORN AGAIN SPIRIT that is now a part of Him, and that is for eternity.

The first step of real discipleship, begins with the first day you have real faith as the revelation of who you are become as a "new creation in Christ", and that is not your body, or your mind, or your feelings, or your opinion.
Its only your BORN AGAIN Spirit.
And once you see this, then you will begin to experience the Grace of God, as the Power of Christ in you, that gives you this...

Paul said...>"CHRIST, always gives me the Victory"...over the flesh, the devil, and the world.

99% of "christians", never see themselves as God sees them, and so they remain this...."apart from me you can do NOTHING"....Jesus says.
And its by SEEING the revelation of who you are "in Christ", .... "made righteous".... that you begin your actual first moment of real discipleship, in spiritual power.
