We sort of live in a dictatorship even in the USA although no one admits it. Government power, court power over the people. We live in a heavy policed nation just like Israel.

Vietnam was an atrocity as I don't see a threat to national security. So jailing people that didn't want to fight is offensive to those that honor freedom. I heard Vietnam was created by the democrats. The same democrats that are taking away our freedoms today.

Israel is different in that military service is a requirement for all citizens. There's no option to opt out for anyone who is in good health.

My thoughts are that this Marxism is affecting even Israel... refusing to fight Hamas is just saying you don't care if terrorists kill your family and countrymen.

At the time many refused to fight in Vietnam because Congress did not "declare the war" so to legally call for the draft. I.E it was a illegal war.

Americas government plays the empathy card claiming our war involvement is for humanitarian reasons.
When in truth we are at war anywhere because we can exploit a nations resources.

Years ago when an oil dereck off the Florida coast blew and polluted the Gulf it was a crisis. Ohhhh nooooo!

It's mandatory for all Israeli citizens to serve in the military once they turn 18. For men, it's 3 years. For women, it's 2 years. They do this because they are a small country and have to ensure they have a large enough standing army in case conflict breaks out (like now). This particular kid sounds like an average leftist.
