This really encouraged me today on facebook, because I asked dumbly why or why not people wear masks besides the mandate, and gave my opinion. I said I didn't fear it or spread it to others, but wore it out of love even though I think it is stupid. It didn't go over well...but then someone posted this video, my exact feelings on it. Love AND faith. Fear has been my greatest stumbling block in my life. And recently since going to my new church, just had this huge break through in it. God is more then capable to take care of us. Masks, I don't believe help. I work with preschoolers who eat their boogers and have no concept of social distancing. We are required to wear a mask. They pull my mask down all the time. If I have to wear it another year so my sister and brother won't stumble, I should be able to say it is stupid.

Vaccines, I don't know where I stand yet. And no way do I want this to be a debate on that please. Plenty other areas. I am just stepping away a bit to pray about that. I am learning praise is my greatest weapon against fear. I can't avoid it forever, but I have some months to decide with my age.

But it is just the balance overall in love and faith. The greatest is love. But I guess I wanted my friends to know, and to know on here, I have faith God can protect us, mask or no mask. Vaccine or no vaccine. And I still love you no matter what you think. Jesus Christ is the means of salvation.

Give God the glory sister!

Our city has a mask mandate and our apartment complex has a mask mandate. Outside my apartment [my home] I wear a mask wherever I go. I do see people who flaunt not wearing a mask before others. So far no enforcement measures. I had to take my wife to a doctor yesterday who sent us to Emergency Room and that was certainly at a far end of the spectrum. From one extreme to the other, but where are the followers of Christ in this? This is not a question to answer, but for every believer to seriously consider and pray about...

"Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself." Phil 2:3

So far here, I think the mandate is just inside buildings. I don't wear one when I am just out in my car or in my house. Even walking to the store. I think fresh air is important for health. The governor wanted to have hefty fines for not wearing a mask, but that is the very essence of communism. I think he would have had more of an issue if that had gotten authorized. And Lord knows, I lose everything. Look for everything all the time. I would have been in big trouble at first. :D Now I have these ones I wear around my neck, so I can keep up with it. Makes a cute scarf too. Lol. :)

I am just frustrated with them though. It was meant to be for a couple months and has been over a year now. But we are all hanging in there

The mask can stop an ill persons cough from infecting others. As we all know elderly and ill are at the greatest risk. I wear one out of concern for their welfare.

I don't wear one when going out for a walk, but if I'm approaching someone I put one on, it is the governers rules here in my state. And I don't want to get into trouble.

Im not afraid of getting in trouble, but if someone comes close to me and gives me a dirty look, I remember I need to put it up.

I have a medical condition and if I get Covid it could be bad, I found myself fearing it, then remembered God can save me or not, and if not maybe I'll still be OK. And that's the best I got I guess.

I had this Catholic (he sometimes walks my way to go to church) guy keep approaching me within 6 feet without a mask on intentionally, I kept trying to keep my distance and he finally called me a weirdo for it. And I'm like: what the...lol

Lol. See that is not loving to me for that person to do that. My pastor though, he doesnt wear one unless he has to. He walks in walmart without one while social distancing. For the most part, when you are shopping in walmart, at least I know I am nowhere close to anyone else shopping. Only thing I think might be remotely helpful are gloves, because you touch things when you are shopping. But if you are going to eat out for example, mask on for 30 seconds before sitting at the table for what, an hour...it just doesnt seem helpful to me.

What would help, is letting things run its course and have those at risk stay home. Because the youth this hardly effects from what I understand, is effecting them mentally and emotionally. People need each other.

Also, Jesus was not afraid of leprosy and any other number of illnesses. Im not going to go handle snakes, but if a friend calls up and says they need me, covid or not, I am there for them.

Well I live in a socialist state. Walmart won't let you in without a mask. But I agree somewhat.

Oh I am sorry. I heard in Alabama there is a city who had enforced masks outlawed or something, years before covid. My friend lives there and heard something about it. Ill have to look it up and see how they have faired. What the story actually is about it.

And look here:

Polling shows increased support for them. A Morning Consult poll between July 23-26 found that 94% of respondents either planned to wear a mask always or sometimes in the next two weeks. That’s an uptick from late June and early July when a Gallup poll showed only 44% of respondents admitting they wore a face covering all the time, while 14% said they never wore them.

People still chose to wear one. I think it is much better then fining for not wearing one.

Anyway, thanks for letting me rant. :D

That's nice, I know a police officer here and he didn't care if I was wearing a mask. But all of the stores here in Washington state say "No admittance without a mask". They get fined for not following the mandate and can be closed down. There are a lot of people that hate our governor as a result. And as a result I wear one whenever I go to the store or doctors office, the doctors office is the same as the stores. The doctors office makes you put on a new one before entering and takes your temperature and asks COVID symptom questions, or you will be sent away.

Mask wearing and social distancing are largely useless and are more about conditioning people. It's very well known psychological technique to make people actively do something, perform an action, in order to confirm their belief in something, and when lots of people see others similarly doing the same action it reinforces the beliefs. It's the stuff of Derren Brown, extremely classic and basic technique. Religions and Churches use the technique all the time. It can be used for good or bad like everything.

Social distancing is largely a total nonsense because science has always known that the aerosol droplets you create from coughs and sneezes travel up to 8m or more. Further more, such droplets can hang and linger in the air for up to 3 hours. Do it matters not on jot how close you are to the next person, because a person 8m away might sneeze and thus infect you, or you could be standing in an area where an infected person's droplets are still lingering from 2-3 hours before. It's all a total nonsense and is really about social compliance to underpin in people's minds that the pandemic is real. That they had to use such psychological techniques should make us question what is going on imo.

Mask wearing slightly different. No question that wearing one helps stop you ejecting droplets when you cough and sneeze. They are of little benefit protecting yourself, but they can help reduce the risk of you infecting someone else. But overall it is just yet another psychological trick being used on the public. We've never previously thought about or bothered to wear masks to prevent ourselves passing colds, ILIs and Flu to other people, especially older vulnerable people. People regularly turned up to their office work coughing and spluttering and it was all par for the course. They spread their germs all over the place. Governments never cared, even knowing the flu vaccines were pretty useless.

Right now we have little choice but to adhere to the rules being imposed on us but we should imo remain always mindful about what they are doing and the psychological tricks being employed. I wear a mask where required to do so and am always mindful of how terribly this whole situation has affected the hearts and minds of people who were previously passive and amiable. Many are now aggressive and unthinking and have allowed themselves to become "mask police" and "social distancing" police and are so absorbed by these psychological techniques that they are prepared to get into fights and brawls with people they see as flaunting the rules. All very sad. So much of it overtly hypocritical because they never previously gave a monkeys about spreading their colds and Flu germs to others.

A factor to bear in mind is how you appear to and are perceived by your neighbour and those around you. Whatever you personally think about distancing and masks, your actions will be judged by those around you and it will be hard to win hearts and minds if you are perceived to be acting in ways that make other people upset or angry or concerned.
