Aspen2 I agree. There needs to be a balance of both Spirit and Truth. The old mothers at my church taught us that the Holy Ghost has intelligence and will not act out of order with the house (church) or the leader of the house.

I believe in the work of the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit but emotionalism nor many "new manifestations" is biblical or of the Holy Spirit. We get spirits mixed up with the HOLY Spirit!

True. There is only "one" Holy Spirit and He was given only [ ever ] to Christ's Apostolic Church at Pentecost 1st century. Christs apostles were the nucleus of His Church . Only the Apostolic Church was formed by Jesus, Where you find a Church that can trace its origins directly back to Jesus and His apostles then there will you find the Holy Spirit, The Holy Spirit first came to Christ's Church for the complete understanding of the "Fullness of the Faith" then later the Holy Spirit came to us, so as to lead us to Jesus.

News Flash …

Historically, man has always been a spiritual idiot.
Historically, Satan has always been the world’s greatest liar and deceiver.
So for 1900 years, many have been deceived into believing God’s signs have ceased.
But, they have not ceased, and now they are really needed!

A parallel is obvious …
Jesus and the apostles used signs and wonders to evangelize people who had no Bibles.
But guess what, today we have literally millions of villages world-wide that have no Bibles.
Many thousands of Muslim villages have no Bibles (they don’t even have Qur’ans).
Many thousands of Hindu, Buddhist, etc. villages of course have no Bibles.
These villages will respond to the gospel when it is verified by God’s mighty miracles!
This is what is required to break hundreds of years of satanic strongholds.

Who believes this … and who has faith … and who wants to be called to go forth?

Catholicism has a charismatic movement within the church - I have attended charismatic Mass. The Catholic Church only opposes too much emphasis on the public expression of spiritual gifts.

Also, the people during Jesus's time were convinced of Jesus's authority through miracles - the people of our time are different. Jesus always meets people where they are at.

Art thou saying that Christian evangelists have not been successful during the past decades
combining the gospel with signs, wonders, and miracles?
And art thou saying they should not be doing this now?

And what does this have to do with the RCC? ... Are they in foreign lands doing these things?

*wondering if I need to respond in King James English....*

I didn't mention Protestant Evangelists.

Charismatic Masses are held in dioceses all over the USA, as well as other countries.

This has been happening in the 10/40 window. GFA is a missionary outreach who is working miracles in Muslim, Hindu and Buddhist countries. Miracles in this sense of salvation and in the sense of miraculous healings and demon expulsions.
