a thousand two hundred and threescore days, 1260You know how lots of people are always wondering about the two witnesses. In Zechariah 4 you have the questions asking,; What are these my Lord? Then Revelation 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. These are seen by pretty much everybody but not necessarily understood. So a few years ago I asked myself………….Self, who are these? And I remembered they were prophesying 1260 days clothed in sackcloth. However ,were they prophesying for 1260 days…. or concerning 1260 days. Okay, well this is easy, just look for two individuals clothed in sackcloth and prophesying for 1260 days,……my home work is done. Why study any further? Well then it occurred to me, 1260 days straight? Do they get a weekends off….holidays? How about a change of clothes,….is it the same set of clothes for three and a half years? I mean come on, I need to know! After pondering with that thought, it occurred to me, maybe there is more to it. It might be that it went right over my head. (Well, it did). So, abandoning my thoughts of holidays, clothes, etc. It seemed like a good idea to look in to it further. There seemed to be other scriptures where this same thought was brought out. Dan 12:77 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.Rev 11:33 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.Rev 12:66 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.Rev 12:1414 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.There has to be more to it. So in reading Bullinger’s book “Witness of the Stars” and in the chapter entitled “for signs and for seasons” there was some interesting information in certain kingdoms and their duration in according to the chronology in “Witness of the Stars“. But not only that, there were eclipse cycles in the book that were repeated, they lasted approximately 1260 years. Now this was interesting! But not only that, the kingdoms in question appeared to do that also. Could this be a coincidence? It seemed almost like God is in control? So looking further in to this, the book stated that there are 70 (plus or minus) eclipses to something called a “saros“. And of these, approximately 42 are solar eclipses and 28 are lunar eclipses. Furthermore, the length of these cycles were even more telling. For approximately 594 years there are 33 eclipses that are of perfect intervals (18 years and 11 days) and the remainder of this solar-lunar cycles is 666 years. Add them together, 594 + 666 = 1260. Have the sun and moon ever been important to prophesy? Now the length of Rome’s possession in Jerusalem began in 31 B.C. and ended in 636 A.D…..666 years. I will let you read about Babylon, Media-Persia and Grecia’s possible duration of 594 years combined. Is it possible that every night we look up the at sky and the story is told? In Revelation 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood. What are we being told about here (at least in part)? These are eclipses! Sackcloth is solar and the moon as blood is a lunar eclipse. Also, what are the two witnesses clothed in? Is it possible they are clothed in the knowledge of the meaning of these cycles? And is it possible that one of the ways to recognize them is by understanding what they may prophesy concerning this? Well anyway, if you happen to see two people walking around in sackcloth please let me know! I have a few questions for their tailor. It went right over my head.
