Ephesians 1:5,

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

This scripture and others like it can help the on going believer to divide soul and spirit. As we have discussed dividing soul and spirit before and it will be the most important thing for you to do when studying the scriptures. Our scripture text without proper understanding will lead the believer to think they are being adopted. Which is partially true, but the born again believer has been birthed by God, which is in spirit, the adoption process has to do with the soul-mind.

It is your growth, your understanding of what happened in spirit. It is your everything to properly understand how to read and divide soul and spirit in your bible. Most believers who begin to properly divide soul and spirit have a whole new bible open up to them, or what they have known and seen in their bible takes on it's proper perspective. We just have a few verses on dividing, but the impact of doing so will bring enormous results in understanding.

So what is adoption and how does it work? Well really it's quite simple! You were taken out of your first birth family and birthed into a new family. Your born again with basically the same old soul-mind you had in the old family. So the end result is you have to learn your new family (Spirit of adoption). By the way your new family is full of joy and peace. We must learn that, the confusion and the other stuff that comes with that will only come from the old family. So adoption has to do with you learning a new way of living. You ever do something and get mad at yourself for doing it, we are still learning our new family ways, the family spirit if you will. It is an on going process of learning, what we learn is of most importance, Paul would say in one place to the believers "you have not learned Christ."
