Your body is defined as a container, and that container was designed to carry life. Your body right now as a believer carries the only life there is for believers "which is Christ." If that statement is true I would spend all my waking days finding out about what all that means. When the scriptures makes the in Christ statements, I would look at those statements until my eye balls fell out of my head. I would not spend another moment trying to figure out who the anti-christ is, or what time is the rapture taking place, or who is out to dupe the masses, or some other theory.
Why is that? Because your time is limited, you are only going to live a certain amount of time and that time should be given to understanding what it was your Father had in mind BEFORE He created anything. I understand all the deceptive things in the world are distractions and are more appealing to your flesh and mind but they will get you nowhere. As a matter of fact they become the very thing that keeps you stuck in the mud. We are to have nothing to do with the world as far as it's influence on our mind. Come out from her and be ye separate.
We have nothing to do with the world and the world has nothing to do with us. The world is simply the world and it's influence to deceive you will be greater than you being separated from it. Why is that? Because our flesh always has the tendencies to stand around the edges of the world and flirt with it. The world has everything your flesh needs and desires. It feeds flesh like a steak to a lion, but your mind needs more than what the world has to offer. Trying to figure out things is not what the mind needs, that is a flesh trap. The mind needs absulte renewal and anything less is going to be a distraction that keeps you locked into some worldly event or some other knowledge that will give you nothing but trouble.
In 1988 there was a fellow or group that had come up with 88 reasons Jesus was returning in 1988. They had become so caught up by the world they believed the imminent return of Jesus Christ would take place in 1988. First we should say if He happened to return in 1988 it wouldn't have mattered anyway because it would be over. Some would say "well what about trying to make believers before." The last time I checked we have a gospel that can bring people to Christ not some prediction.
So spending your time stuck in scripture trying to figure out all Daniels symbols and cross referencing Revelations and dates and times is very intriguing and I did it for years so I understand but that is not the gospel. The gospel renews the mind it does not place it on a bigger head trip. We needed the gospel for salvation and we need the gospel for spiritual growth, mind renewal. The gospel will in time separate you in mind from being worldly. You will not have the affinity for the world you once had because of mind change. Why do we need that? To be able to have some kind of impact in the world, you cannot do anything in the world for God when the world's influence has you.
1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
3 Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:
4 But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,
5 In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;
6 By pureness, by knowledge, by long suffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,
7 By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,
8 By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;
9 As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;
10 As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. - 2 Corinthians 6:1-10.
