Hello all. The preacher at my mothers church is really big on missions, but in this case, he thinks the afghan people being brought here to my town is a good thing. He says this is an opportunity to share the gospel with them. And he knew he was going to get some hateful- esque email responses to this.
Well, a veteran of afghanistan did indeed email him, and explained how difficult it was for him to be ok with this. On one hand, he had to physically go fight over there, and now, years later, openly accept them into our community. He was conflicted. So the preacher reached out to the veteran and they discussed it.
I too am a veteran, but i got out back in 2000, before we ever got involved with afghanistan. But i could understand how this would be a conflict for many.
I was wondering, for christian folk, how do you view not just us letting afghani refugees here, but our border issues in general? Are you conflicted? I know the OT said we are to accept outsiders openly, but what do you think about the US letting in so many people in a short time?

I'm fine with it and hope for the best for them in our nation. As for illegal immigration while I am very open to all coming here I know that would eventually harm our citizens (we are not at that point yet) so it should eventually be stopped, but for the ones coming across now I would assist them. I plan on helping immigrants during my life if possible, so it's all good to me.

Hopefully some of these Afghans find salvation at your community and come to love the Lord, which is an infinite blessing.

1. The American political and military leaders should have known from day one that sending troops to Afghanistan was not only foolish but a no-win situation. The history of Afghanistan proves that not a single foreign army has ever succeeded in occupying that desolate country. Afghans have been at war ever since that country came into existence.

2. Now the Taliban (a bunch of terrorists) have declared victory over "super-power" America and linked up with China! Can you imagine the sheer waste of hundreds of thousands of lives and billions (trillions?) of dollars of assets? Twenty years of TOTAL WASTE. Which means that all the generals should have been fired and/or court martialed for this mess.

3. There should not have been a single Afghan refugee going anywhere at this time. Since the USA made a mess over there, it should have ensured the protection of the general population for as long as necessary in their own homeland. Every Afghan should have remained in Afghanistan. As Muslims and Afghans they hate America, and will simply be another group of anti-American migrants. Possibly many will turn to terrorism on US soil. Two of them have already committed horrible crimes within a military base. And that is only what is know.

4. The so-called "war on terror" was a total sham, since America was giving billions of dollars to America-hating Pakistan, so that Pakistan could give aid and comfort to the Taliban and keep the pot boiling. Bin Laden was protected by Pakistan, but America failed to learn any lessons.

5. Afghanistan is Europe's main heroin supplier, and drug trafficking was a part of this mess in Afghanistan. It would seem that the CIA was involved with this to some degree. So "the war on drugs" was another sham.

6. As to the disastrous mess at the southern border, why has Joe Biden not been impeached already? Or simply and forcibly removed from the White House, since he became president fraudulently. He and Hunter should have been behind bars before he even started sham-campaigning from his basement.

What should be the Christian's position on lawlessness? It's very simply. God does not allow or encourage lawlessness, and the NT makes that very clear. All the laws regarding immigration have been violated, and now the law enforcement officers are being prosecuted instead of the criminals. The entire government is one big FRAUD -- a criminal organization. And this is criminal fraud subject to prosecution.
