Hello all. The preacher at my mothers church is really big on missions, but in this case, he thinks the afghan people being brought here to my town is a good thing. He says this is an opportunity to share the gospel with them. And he knew he was going to get some hateful- esque email responses to this.
Well, a veteran of afghanistan did indeed email him, and explained how difficult it was for him to be ok with this. On one hand, he had to physically go fight over there, and now, years later, openly accept them into our community. He was conflicted. So the preacher reached out to the veteran and they discussed it.
I too am a veteran, but i got out back in 2000, before we ever got involved with afghanistan. But i could understand how this would be a conflict for many.
I was wondering, for christian folk, how do you view not just us letting afghani refugees here, but our border issues in general? Are you conflicted? I know the OT said we are to accept outsiders openly, but what do you think about the US letting in so many people in a short time?
