Not sure if this is the right place for this, but as it is a school for studying Scripture, I out it here.

https://www.ariel.org/pdfs/Shoshanah-pmjs-2021-brochure.pdf

This is a program that lasts all summer and people can attend all or part as their schedule and finances allow. I have sat under the teachings of Dr. Fruchtenbaum for over 35 years now and am so grateful to the Lord that He brought him into my life. As gentile believers we have lost a lot of the "Jewish" flavor of the OT and the gospels. As the church became more and more "gentilzed" , so many passages were reinterpreted to meet a gentile mind! This has caused much harm to Scripture over the centuries.

"The Life of the Messiah from a Jewish Perspective" is a course I not only took, but co-taught in a year long course in bible College. This course with its 4 volume textbooks and DVD teaching guide helped make the gospels come alive in a way I never thought possible. It goes into depth the history and culture of Israel at the time of Christ and helps us understand far better what is taking place in so much of the gospels that most of us have misunderstanding on simp-ly because we have not been taught the culture and mindset in which these events took place.

If you cannot attend the classes, I would envourage you to go to ariel.org, go to the bookstore and purchase the four volume series and SDVD set if able to. It really will revolutionize your study of so many doctrines that have been harmed simply because the church lost its Jewish roots and reinterpreted things over the years because they no longer knew the original meanings.

I understand the thought on Jew/Gentile separation and have adhered to it as well, and still do in a since but only in a life application as any scripture given is intended. But, always a but huh - there is neither Jew nor Gentile in Christ. Just one person 'the born again." Thanks

Yes that is completely true.

bu9t remember Jesus came as the Jewish Messiah to give Israel its promised kingdom. Even if Israel had accepted Jesus as Messiah He would have still died and risen for sin. Just the Millenial kingdom would have started shortly after His resurrection (that is my speculationj) but He knew they would rejejct, but offered anyway.

but this study is not about Jew/Gentile distinctions for we are one in Christ, but understanding the culture Jesus lived and spoke in and the mindset that Jesus also shared. And how so many things in the gospel have a very Jewish flavor that manyof us gentile believers have simply never been taught.

It would be like if Jesus came ot
America! folks in spain and Russia would not fully appreciate many things Jesus said or did because He interacted in and with American Culture. They would need to learn those differences in cultrue to appresiate more what some things were said and done.

I love the culture and when scripture gives us how Jesus grew up and worked and built with his hands - like everyone in that day. At 12, in the synagogue teaching/preaching to me that is very intriguing. That is a wow moment and we know who he was but they didn't. He was just some kid showing off, I'm surprised they let him speak but there was that underlying agenda that God always works out.

Jesus wasn't widely accepted just as a person, some said he was beside himself even his own family because of what he was here to do - he did not fit the norm of everyday Jewish life. Nobody understood what he was doing and we can understand now that we have scripture written, the infallible scriptures are a wonder in themselves to let a believer know and understand what he was doing and what he is doing today - God is still working toward humanity for the good. As evil as it can get, God will prevail and grace shall abound is my faith in all he is doing today.

What is cool is that when he was 12, He was doing what every Jewish kid did at their bar mitzvah, read and comment on a SCripture as a new "man" in the community! He did wow them with His wosdom.
